Entering the match against boxer Choi Eun-ji (Korea) with outstanding height and a pretty impressive resume as she already had a belt in this tournament, the 32nd SEA Games champion in Khmer martial arts, Trieu Thi Phuong Thuy, played very well.

Entering the match, both showed great determination, but thanks to superior skills and reasonable tactics from the coaching staff, Quang Huy won by overwhelming KO in the first round.

In the remaining 2 matches of the Vietnamese boxers, in the match of the 32nd SEA Games champion Nguyen Xuan Phuong, despite facing opponent Kwon Gi-seop (Korea), who has superior physique, Phuong tried very hard and won the first 2 rounds.
However, in the third round, due to a relapse of his old injury, Phuong lost by KO.
In the remaining match, Vietnamese boxer Vo Van Thien Ngan also lost to a very strong opponent from Japan, Yo Toguchi.
In an interview with the press, President of the Vietnam Kickboxing Federation Vu Duc Thinh said that tournaments like the kickboxing event held in Ho Tram will help Vietnamese athletes have the opportunity to learn, exchange culture and compete.
Through events like MAXFC 26, Vietnamese martial artists will gain experience and improve their competition skills, in preparation for the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in November in Thailand.
The President of the Vietnam Kickboxing Federation emphasized that kickboxing is a martial art introduced to Vietnam in 2009. Up to now, this sport has been strongly developed in provinces and cities across the country, especially Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Dinh, Thai Nguyen, Ba Ria - Vung Tau... This is a sport in the national competition system, the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, and the SEA Games.
In international arenas, Vietnamese kickboxing has achieved many successes. Most recently at the 31st SEA Games, Vietnamese kickboxing won the overall title with 5 gold medals; at the 32nd SEA Games, Vietnam won 4 gold medals. Organizing Kickboxing events in Vung Tau also aims to develop kickboxing in a professional direction.
Previously, also at Ho Tram, a cooperation agreement signing ceremony took place between the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, the Vietnam Kickboxing Federation and Cocky Buffalo Company Limited on organizing kickboxing events in 2024 in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.
Mr. Vu Duc Thinh also said that this cooperation signing aims to promote and develop the kickboxing movement in the whole country in general and especially in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in particular, through the kickboxing event, contributing to promoting the potential and strengths of Vietnam tourism as well as Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, linking sports with tourism development.
