The 133 enterprises awarded the National Quality Awards are all units with outstanding contributions.
Specifically, in the 3 years from 2021 to 2023, businesses faced many difficulties and challenges, but businesses participating in the National Quality Award still achieved remarkable results in production and business. The estimated revenue of award-winning businesses is more than 500,000 billion VND; profit is more than 36,000 billion VND; budget contribution is more than 32,000 billion VND; creating jobs for nearly 170,000 workers.
It is worth noting that two enterprises operating in the agricultural sector among the enterprises that won the National Quality Gold Award in 2019 - 2020 were awarded the Asia - Pacific Quality Award 2021 by the Asia - Pacific Quality Organization (APQO) with the highest award (World Class Award) in the category of large manufacturing enterprises. These are TH Milk Food Joint Stock Company and Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Beverage Joint Stock Company (Khanh Hoa province).
It is known that after 28 years of organization, there have been 2,163 enterprises winning the National Quality Award, of which 332 enterprises won the Gold Award, 139 enterprises received Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister. Notably, among the Vietnamese enterprises winning the National Quality Award, there have been 55 typical enterprises honored at the international level and awarded the Asia-Pacific Quality Award (GPEA).
According to Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Xuan Dinh, after 28 years of formation and development, the National Quality Award has attracted special attention and created prestige among organizations/enterprises, management agencies as well as consumers in society.
At the same time, it is worthy to honor excellent enterprises that have maintained comprehensive stability and affirmed their competitive position not only in the domestic market but also reached international level, thanks to the process of efforts to improve the management system towards optimization and sustainable development.
According to Deputy Minister Le Xuan Dinh, after the Covid-19 pandemic, Vietnamese enterprises are facing unprecedented challenges in many different fields. With their own efforts and the support of the Government, many enterprises are still standing firm and creating momentum for development. Enterprises continue to achieve success, not only in overall results but also in productivity and product quality.
This award is an opportunity for businesses to achieve sustainable success, to be honored and recognized appropriately. Deputy Minister Le Xuan Dinh hopes that the Vietnamese business community will have many businesses with sufficient capacity and outstanding performance to meet the criteria of the National Quality Award, helping the business community to grow stronger.
In order for the National Quality Award to contribute more to the productivity and quality movement, the Deputy Minister suggested that the National Committee for Standards, Metrology and Quality, the Standing Agency of the Award, continue to implement the National Quality Award activities more effectively.
Firstly, it guides businesses to approach the award as an important tool to comprehensively evaluate the performance of the management system according to international standards. Through the award criteria, businesses can discover areas that need improvement, thereby creating a basis for enhancing competitiveness and orienting sustainable development. This is also the core value that the Award brings to Vietnamese businesses when they apply the National Quality Award model to business management.
Second, organize sessions to share good practices, stable and excellent results of honored businesses with the community. This is also the responsibility of the award-winning businesses, contributing to spreading experiences and successes for the business community to develop together.
Regarding the criteria for evaluating enterprises, Mr. Phung Manh Truong, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Standards and Quality Institute, said that enterprises are evaluated based on 7 criteria and according to the expert scoring method. The awards include 2 types: National Quality Gold Award and National Quality Award.
The seven criteria have a total score of 1,000. In which, the role of leadership (120 points); strategic planning (85 points); customer and market orientation (85 points); measurement, analysis and knowledge management (90 points); human resource management and development (85 points); operational process management (85 points); operational results (450 points). If the total score is over 600, the Quality Award will be awarded and over 800, the Gold Award will be awarded - National Quality Award.
The evaluation and selection of the National Quality Award is conducted at two levels: the Provincial/City Preliminary Council and the National Council. Based on the list of enterprises proposed by the Preliminary Council, the National Council selects and recommends that the Minister of Science and Technology submit to the Prime Minister for awarding the National Quality Award annually.
As a company that has received the National Quality Award many times, a representative of Tien Phong Plastic Joint Stock Company (Tien Phong Plastic) said that participating in the National Quality Award with seven standard criteria, built on the model and criteria of advanced countries, has given Tien Phong Plastic the opportunity to review its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges, thereby taking measures to improve productivity and quality, perfect management systems, increase operational efficiency, and move towards sustainable development and integration with the regional and world economy.
The National Quality Award and Asia-Pacific Quality Award 2021-2023 ceremony will be held on December 18, 2024 at the Military Theater (Hanoi). The ceremony will be widely reported on mass media and broadcast live.
