Khanh Vinh District Police, Khanh Hoa Province, this afternoon (September 22) are still working with relevant people to investigate the cause of the truck burning to the frame while passing through Son Thai Commune.
Earlier this morning, driver Do Van Tam (35 years old, from Thanh Hoa province) drove a truck with a license plate from Ha Nam province on National Highway 27C, from Da Lat City to Nha Trang. While going down Khanh Le Pass through Son Thai commune, Mr. Tam discovered that the rear wheel of the car was on fire. Immediately, the driver pulled over to the side of the road and opened the door to escape before the fire engulfed the entire car.
Local authorities and the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police were mobilized to the scene to put out the fire. The fire was later brought under control.
The fire did not cause any casualties, but the truck was burned to the frame. The goods on the truck were also burned and damaged.
Khanh Le Pass is located on Highway 27, 1,700m high and 33km long, connecting Nha Trang to Da Lat. This pass has many sharp turns, high cliffs and deep ravines, and has been the site of many accidents.
