On the morning of September 27, speaking with VietNamNet reporter, Colonel Tran Dinh Nghia - Head of Traffic Police Department, Hanoi City Police said that the unit had sent officers and soldiers to verify the incident of a group of people cycling onto Vo Nguyen Giap Street and then arguing with a car driver.

Specifically, the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi City Police received a report via Zalo channel, a clip recording a group of cyclists violating traffic laws entering Vo Nguyen Giap Street (towards Noi Bai Airport). The images in the clip show that some people in the group of cyclists were shouting loudly, challenging a car driver who was going in the same direction to fight.

The climax of the incident was when more than 10 members of the cycling group blocked the car and used many vulgar words to challenge the driver. The group of cyclists blocking the car caused traffic congestion on the road, forcing many cars traveling in the same direction to stop.

The authorities have put up lane signs on Vo Nguyen Giap Street and banned bicycles and motorbikes from entering the car lane. This lane also allows vehicles to travel at a speed of 80km/h, with a minimum speed of 60km/h.

Cycling on prohibited roads causes traffic insecurity and potential accidents.
