Mr. Niem's family owns about 7,000 - 8,000 pots of yellow apricot flowers of various types. Depending on the shape and size, the price of each pot ranges from 1 million to about 200 million VND. Apricot flowers are propagated from many localities, such as: Thu Duc (Ho Chi Minh City), Ben Tre province, Long An... with the number of 20 - 150 petals/flower.
These apricot varieties are popular in the market because they have bright yellow color, long-lasting petals, large flowers, fragrant scent, and bloom evenly during Tet holidays... According to Mr. Niem's calculations, each year, he supplies the market with about 300 pots of apricot of all kinds. Thanks to growing apricot, the family's economy has grown more and more.
In Phu Tan district, Mr. Nguyen Minh Hieu (Phu Long commune, Chau Phu district, An Giang province) also has a stable economy from growing apricot trees to sell for Tet. On an area of over 8,000m2 , Mr. Hieu grows about 16,000 young apricot trees and more than 2,000 medium and large apricot trees.
