Hanoi female student kneels in front of classroom until exhausted: Teacher warned

On January 9, Mr. Nguyen Duy Hien, the school principal, announced that he had signed a decision to discipline teacher Nguyen Thi Phuong, a civics teacher, with a warning for violating teacher ethics. This is the teacher who made her students cry in front of the classroom until they were exhausted.

Previously, the school's Party cell also completed the report to the District Party Committee's Inspection Committee and took Party disciplinary action against Ms. Phuong.

Through the verification report, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong, the homeroom teacher of class 12D4, seriously violated the teacher's ethics when she allowed the incident of a student kneeling and crying in front of the classroom door. After the incident, Ms. Phuong was slow to admit her mistake and made excuses for herself.

Ms. Phuong also contacted students and parents, causing them to feel insecure, and asked the class's parents' association president to form a group to petition the principal to allow her to return to teaching and continue being the homeroom teacher of class 12D4.

Not stopping there, the female teacher collected money for extra classes and supplementary English classes at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year. At the end of the school year, there was still 26.5 million VND left, but Ms. Phuong did not inform the students and parents.

The working group verified and announced to return this amount to each student, about 600,000 VND.

According to this report, the school has no policy of organizing field trips for students, but Ms. Phuong collected 715,000 VND/student for the field trip. The school also announced that the above amount would be returned to the students.

To make the above decision, the school's pedagogical council met and took a secret ballot on disciplining Ms. Phuong. As a result, 4/82 people present at the meeting agreed to discipline Ms. Phuong with a reprimand (5%); 63/82 people agreed to warn her (77%); and 15/82 people agreed to dismiss her (18%).

The incident happened 4 months ago. The clip was filmed in the hallway at that time and shows the female student being chased out into the hallway by her teacher and crying until she was exhausted.

The teacher went out and continued to scold the student, causing her to panic and hug her legs, saying repeatedly, "I'm sorry, teacher. Please forgive me." The climax of the incident was when the teacher grabbed the student by the collar and dragged her.

In the report, Ms. Phuong said that on September 29, she assigned NTKC, the class's Youth Union Secretary, to order monthly birthday cakes for her classmates. However, student C ordered the cake not according to the homeroom teacher's instructions.

After the discussion, Ms. Phuong asked student C to stand outside the classroom door and solve the ordered cake himself.

When the class was setting up tables and chairs and preparing for the birthday party for the students this month, homeroom teacher P went to the door and student C cried and knelt down at the door to apologize to her. Ms. Phuong told C to stand up but C did not stand. Due to poor health, student C lay down at the door. Seeing that, Ms. Phuong pulled the student's shirt.

The school principal reminded teacher P that his behavior of pulling the student up was not standard and that his actions were not appropriate for the position of a homeroom teacher.

At the same time, the school principal called student C's father to come to school to meet and work. The principal accepted responsibility for the unfortunate incident and hoped that student C and his family would sympathize with Ms. Phuong's action of dragging the student.
