Vo Thi Kim Anh won a place at the 2024 Paris Olympics after defeating opponent Islem Ferchichi (Tunisia) in the quarter-finals of the 2024 Olympics qualifying round being held in Italy.
The Vietnamese female boxer won with a score of 5-0. The scores of the rounds were 30-27, 30-27, 30-27, 30-27, 30-26. Before that, her athlete defeated two boxers, Estefani Almanzar (Dominica, 4-1) and Hanna Lakotar (Hungary, 5-0).
Vo Thi Kim Anh was born on July 29, 1997, in Phu Huu, Cho Vam Town, Phu Tan District, An Giang Province. Anh started practicing boxing in February 2012 under the guidance of coach Huynh Cong Vu. Currently, Ms. Do Thi Thu An is Kim Anh's coach at the An Giang team.

An Giang unit has a tradition of training many strong athletes in boxing. Coach Do Thi Thu An was previously a national athlete.
Kim Anh's first notable achievement was the bronze medal at the National Sports Festival in 2014. She competed in the 54 kg weight class, won two consecutive matches to reach the semi-finals and only lost to Nguyen Thi Tam - one of the best boxers of the Vietnamese boxing team in recent years and expected to win a place at the 2024 Olympics.
After that, Kim Anh moved down to the 48 kg weight class, winning bronze medals in 2015 and 2016 at the national championship. In 2017, this girl changed the color of her medal, moving up to the number 1 position. In the final match, Kim Anh unexpectedly defeated her senior Trinh Thi Diem Kieu.
With this victory, Kim Anh became a rival to Diem Kieu. The athlete from An Giang won the championship once more in 2019 before moving to the 54kg class in 2020 and dominating this weight class with 4 consecutive national championships (from 2020 to 2023).
In the international arena, Vo Thi Kim Anh has not had many opportunities to compete. However, she has left her mark with achievements in some rare tournaments she has participated in. The first international tournament that Kim Anh participated in was the President's Cup held in Indonesia in 2017. She lost to Mary Kom of India in the semi-finals, thereby winning a bronze medal.
In 2022, Kim Anh participated in the Thailand Open and won a gold medal. Anh's opponent in the final match was Sirine Charaabi (Italy). Also in this year, Kim Anh did not participate in the 31st SEA Games held in Vietnam because the 54kg event was not included in the competition program.
In 2023, Kim Anh participated in the world championship and lost to Mongolian boxer Munguntseteg Enkhjargal in the first match. Anh was not selected for the team to attend the 32nd SEA Games and the 19th ASIAD. The reason was that the 54kg weight class of the games had a limit on the number of athletes participating. Nguyen Thi Tam was selected.
Kim Anh was called back to the national team to participate in the 2024 Olympic qualifiers. She is part of a group of 65 athletes who are receiving key investment with a nutritional regimen of 640,000 VND per day to aim for a place at the Olympics in Paris (France).
