VinFast joins hands with Mexican partner to promote green transformation of public transport

On November 4, VinFast and the Durango Drivers and Workers Union in Mexico signed a strategic cooperation agreement on green transformation of public transport, including the possibility of purchasing 3,000 VF 5 electric vehicles and 300 electric buses to operate in Mexico.

Under the Agreement, the two parties will negotiate the sale of VF 5 electric vehicles and electric buses to the Durango Drivers Union, a member of the Mexican Labor Confederation (CTM), to serve public passenger transport in Durango City, replacing the current gasoline fleet. In addition, VinFast, V-Green Company and CTM will cooperate to research, establish, install and/or operate charging station infrastructure for electric cars and electric buses in Durango City, building a convenient and widespread charging network to meet the needs of both personal and public transportation. This cooperation will contribute to greening transportation and developing the electric vehicle ecosystem in Durango City and throughout Mexico. Replacing the gasoline fleet with electric vehicles will significantly reduce CO2 emissions, help the Durango Drivers Union save operating costs and create new local jobs through the installation and operation of the charging station system.
