Viettel Software - One year, one mission, one vision

On the afternoon of August 29, 2024, Viettel Software celebrated its first anniversary, marking a significant leap forward in development during its challenging beginnings. A complete piece of Viettel's Information Technology (IT) ecosystem: Recognizing the growing global trend of software development and IT outsourcing, Viettel's leadership decided to separate the Viettel Software Service IT Center (part of Viettel Commerce) to establish an independent company – Viettel Technology Investment Company (Viettel Software).

Accordingly, Mr. Bui Trinh was entrusted by the Group with the important responsibility of leading Viettel Software during its challenging initial phase. Viettel's leadership expects the establishment of Viettel Software to contribute to the completion of the Group's digital technology ecosystem, aiming towards the grand mission of "Pioneering and leading the creation of a digital society in Vietnam." August 30, 2023 was chosen as Viettel Software's Traditional Day, marking a significant turning point in the race among technology companies, especially in the software outsourcing sector. A strategic vision opens the way to outstanding success. The first year is always a difficult and challenging period, especially in a fiercely competitive industry like Information Technology (IT). At the event celebrating the first anniversary of Viettel Software's founding, Mr. Bui Trinh, Director of Viettel Software, shared: "Although Viettel Software is a relatively new name, we are confident in Viettel's extensive experience in software development, with diverse projects ranging from managing and operating telecommunications networks to enterprise management and e-wallets."

Viettel Software has outlined a clear strategy for each stage. In the last four months of 2023, the company finalized its organizational model, evaluated and improved the quality of its workforce, and enhanced production indicators. By the first quarter of 2024, Viettel Software focused on developing application products that meet the specific needs of each customer, such as OCR, eKYC, SMOS, and Automation Test. The second quarter of 2024 was a period of intensified exploration of international markets, receiving positive feedback from Australia, Singapore, Japan, and South Korea.

As proof of this, Mr. Bui Trinh added that Viettel Software successfully passed rigorous application reviews and interviews to upgrade its CMMI Dev certification from level 3 to level 5 – the highest level. CMMI level 5 is considered a mandatory standard for a technology company to reach international standards. Despite its young age, Viettel Software has attracted the attention of many large clients and has been honored to receive orders to develop specialized software for sectors such as aviation, insurance, and finance. Notably, revenue in the first seven months of the year increased by 40.5% compared to the same period last year. The size of the workforce increased from 1000 (September 2023) to over 1500. These are telling figures, demonstrating the continuous efforts of all Viettel Software employees on their path to expanding internationally. In just one year, Viettel Software is steadily asserting its position on the domestic and international technology map.
