In addition to suggesting many solutions to promote sports cooperation, at the meeting, the two sides reached an agreement and signed a sports cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of Cambodia.
Working session between leaders of two ministries
At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Nguyen Van Hung expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome from Cambodia to the delegation of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam. Sharing the difficulties of Cambodia in organizing the hosting of the 32nd SEA Games, Minister Nguyen Van Hung said he was impressed by Cambodia's increased investment and upgrading of a series of sports facilities to serve the Games.
Signing of sports cooperation agreement between Vietnam and Cambodia
Regarding the cooperation in sports between Vietnam and Cambodia, Minister Nguyen Van Hung assessed that the cooperation activities have been effective. In addition to actively supporting each other to improve professional qualifications through organizing training courses for coaches and athletes, especially in sports that both Vietnam and Cambodia have strengths in, the two sides regularly exchange professional knowledge and compete to learn from each other's development experiences.
In recent times, Vietnam has supported Cambodia in training high-quality human resources, including providing financial support for training 34 Cambodian athletes (Vovinam and Athletics) in Ho Chi Minh City to prepare for the 32nd SEA Games. In addition, 13 Cambodian students (8 graduate students, 5 undergraduate students) are studying at Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports. Cambodian students are provided with the best conditions to study with peace of mind and Vietnam is also ready to receive more Cambodian students to study in the field of Physical Education and Sports.
Regarding future cooperation orientations, the two Ministries will continue to sit together to discuss cooperation activities; share experiences in state management in the field of sports, expanding to related fields such as sports science and technology, sports economics, etc.
Cambodian Minister of Education, Youth and Sports Hang Chuon Naron expressed his gratitude for Vietnam's support for Cambodia in the task of developing sports, especially sharing with Cambodia its experience in organizing the SEA Games.

The two sides agreed to sign a sports cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of Cambodia. Accordingly, the two sides strive to promote cooperation on the basis of equality and mutual benefit. The agreement encourages national sports federations, sports management agencies of provinces, cities, sectors, especially localities with common borders, to increase bilateral sports exchange and cooperation activities; contributing to developing sports cooperation between the two countries. The development of sports cooperation between the two countries is carried out in the forms of exchanging athletes and sports teams to participate in training before the SEA Games, increasing the exchange of officials, coaches, referees, researchers and sports experts; inviting to attend seminars, conferences, training courses and other activities held in each country; exchanging programs and research results on sports science, etc.
