Implementing the National Trade Promotion Program, the Trade Promotion Agency - Ministry of Industry and Trade from October 7 to 11 organized a business delegation to attend the 2023 International Food Industry Fair (Anuga) at the Koelnmesse Exhibition Center, Kohn city, Germany.

This is not only a great opportunity to promote the food industry in Vietnam in general, but also one of the direct trade promotion activities with practical significance to support and accompany Vietnamese enterprises in the context of the world economy facing many difficulties and challenges.

According to a VNA correspondent in Germany, with the theme of "sustainable development", Anuga 2023 attracts about 7,800 exhibiting companies from nearly 200 countries and territories, and is expected to attract more than 150,000 visitors and workers at the fair.

Participating in this fair, the Vietnamese business delegation has the largest scale ever with over 80 import-export enterprises, including more than 60 booths displaying top quality products in the field of agricultural products and processed foods of Vietnam. Notably, among them are many products that have achieved the Vietnam National Brand - Vietnam Value.

In order to catch up with the "green, sustainable development" trend that is being strongly welcomed by customers in the European Union (EU) in general and Germany in particular, Vietnamese enterprises bring to the Anuga Fair 2023 this time many green, organic products produced according to environmentally friendly standards such as spices, vegetables, rice, honey...

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Vietnam national pavilion at the Anuga 2023 fair, Mr. Vu Ba Phu - Director of the Trade Promotion Agency said that the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the EU (EVFTA) has been put into effect since January 2020 in the context of increasingly good bilateral relations between Vietnam and the EU, especially in the fields of economics, trade and investment. This agreement is having a positive effect on two-way bilateral trade, in which Germany and Vietnam are two active members.

Selecting good manufacturing and exporting enterprises, with the desire and capacity to change, building a more professional and trustworthy corporate image for international importers when attending a prestigious and world-class fair such as Anuga not only helps Vietnamese exporting enterprises expand their markets, but also helps these enterprises seek new business opportunities through direct access to reputable purchasing enterprises from all over the world; creating good opportunities for enterprises to promptly update market trends, learn and exchange practical experiences to improve and enhance product quality, increasing competitive advantages in the international market.

Mr. Vu Ba Phu said that one of the differences this year compared to previous years is that the Ministry of Industry and Trade organizes a series of side events for businesses, not only bringing goods to display, but Vietnamese businesses are also supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade's Promotion Department to participate in activities such as brand promotion and trade connection. In addition, another new point of this year's fair is the coordination of promoting Vietnam's national brand with Vietnam's food industry brand - "Vietnam Food". This shows the combined efforts to promote Vietnam's brand along with product brands, especially products that have achieved Vietnam's national product brands.

Specifically, at the fair, 4 enterprises achieving the title of Vietnam national brand were given priority to exhibit in the best positions in front of the Vietnam booth. This is also an activity to encourage Vietnamese enterprises to strive to achieve national brands so that when participating in the fair, enterprises not only find partners but also grasp the trends of the world market this year and many years to come.

Through participating in this fair, businesses will grasp the trends of the world market, new standards of the world market, especially "green standards", "sustainable development" standards and green transformation in production and export in recent times.

Regarding the Trade Promotion Agency, in the past, this agency has also issued warnings related to market trends for Vietnamese manufacturing and exporting enterprises, that if Vietnamese enterprises do not promote research and green transformation activities to meet the standards of the EU market and some other developed markets such as the US and Japan, then in about 3-5 years, even if we have very good products and good packaging designs, we will not be able to "get a ticket" to enter major markets, and will not be able to meet green standards or the "Act for Social Responsibility" of German companies or the regulations on the "Carbon Footprint" of the EU.

To meet or support businesses to meet these standards, in recent times, the Trade Promotion Agency of the Ministry of Industry and Trade has also been working hard to cooperate with international organizations and international experts to advise our export businesses in promoting green transformation activities in production and consumption.
