Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Van Quang received a delegation from the Bavarian State Health Policy Board, Federal Republic of Germany.

On September 6, Comrade Bui Van Quang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee received a delegation from the Bavarian State Health Policy Board, Federal Republic of Germany (Federal Republic of Germany) led by Mr. Micheal Kretzer - Head of the Bavarian State Health Policy Board of the CDU/CSU Party, Chairman of Max Pharma Group, who is visiting and working in Phu Tho province. At the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Van Quang briefed the delegation on the province's characteristics and strengths such as geographical location, human resources and economic development in recent years. Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Van Quang also affirmed that Phu Tho has had cooperative relations with a number of German localities and hopes to build a good relationship with the Bavarian State in the future.

Located in the center of Northern Vietnam, on the Kunming (China) - Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong Economic Corridor, Phu Tho has favorable conditions for production, business and domestic and foreign cooperation activities. The province's workforce is currently about 860,000 people (over 70% have been trained). In 2022 and 2023, Phu Tho is one of the 10 provinces with the highest export turnover in the country; the economic scale reaches over 100,000 billion VND (about over 4 billion USD), ranking 3rd out of 14 provinces in the Northern midland and mountainous region.

Emphasizing that Phu Tho is very interested in investing in a synchronous health system at all levels, with strong professional capacity in the region, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that in the coming time, he will receive the assistance of the working group to deploy the construction and investment in facilities and equipment for Phu Tho Oncology Hospital; organize seminars and conferences to exchange experiences on advanced cancer treatment methods for leading doctors in the field of cancer in the province, neighboring provinces and the Federal Republic of Germany.

In addition, support the province in searching for and connecting German businesses to learn about the investment environment to help Phu Tho develop the healthcare sector in particular and other sectors in general. Phu Tho commits to accompanying investors throughout the process of implementing procedures and operating in the province.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Van Quang presented the Bronze Drum symbol to Mr. Micheal Kretzer - Head of the Bavarian State Health Policy Committee of the CDU/CSU Party - Federal Republic of Germany, Chairman of Max Pharma Group.

He also proposed to promote cooperation between Phu Tho Medical College and Hung Vuong University on study abroad programs, seminars, scientific research, teacher and student exchanges with German localities; support the province to access German scholarship programs to improve the quality of human resources; create conditions for Phu Tho province's workers to study and work at businesses in need in Germany.

Mr. Micheal Kretzer discussed cooperation opportunities in the health sector in the province.

The representative of the Department of Health gave an overview of the cancer sector of Phu Tho province.

Pharmaceutical company Max Pharma was founded in 2005, headquartered in Northern Bavaria, supplying medical products to pharmacies and clinics throughout Germany and is one of the few companies in Germany that sells active ingredients needed for the preparation of individual cell inhibitor drugs. Max Pharma's core competence is in the field of oncology. In addition to wholesale activities, Max Pharma is also a logistics service provider for companies in the pharmaceutical industry.

On that basis, Mr. Micheal Kretzer said that he will promote cooperation in human resource training, experience exchange, creating opportunities for connection and implementing programs and projects in the health sector. The immediate project is the investment project to build a specialized oncology hospital in the province. Mr. Micheal Kretzer also looks forward to welcoming and working with Phu Tho province in Germany in the near future to deepen the cooperative relationship between the two sides and respectfully invites Phu Tho province to attend the MEDICA Trade Fair - the world's largest medical technology trade fair held annually in Germany.

Also during the working program, the delegation met and discussed with Phu Tho Medical College, interacted with doctors specializing in cancer treatment at Phu Tho General Hospital, surveyed the proposed site for the construction of a specialized cancer hospital; visited some historical and cultural relics in Viet Tri city.
