On the afternoon of December 22, the Ministry of National Defense held a conference to summarize and commend the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024.

Major General Le Quang Tuyen, Deputy Director of the General Department of Defense Industry, said the exhibition was a great success, ensuring absolute security and safety in all aspects.

The opening ceremony was held solemnly, impressively, successfully, ensuring absolute safety in all aspects with the presence of the Prime Minister; more than 1,000 delegates; 242 domestic and foreign enterprises, 66 international delegations.

In addition, nearly 12,000 officers and soldiers from agencies and units; 20 aircraft, nearly 3,000 pieces of equipment, 118 military dogs... participated in the service.

As of 12:00 on December 22, the exhibition had welcomed more than 260,000 visits from the public and professional visitors.

Within the framework of the exhibition, enterprises throughout the army took advantage of the opportunity to exchange and work with foreign companies and enterprises. The Organizing Committee ensured 1,872 bilateral meetings and working sessions for military agencies, units and enterprises to listen to product introductions and discuss areas of interest.

On that basis, a number of potential areas of cooperation have been discussed by the two sides; Vietnam's defense industry has received many orders from foreign partners requesting to supply products such as: infantry guns; submunitions, mortars, artillery shells; economic ships; propellants - explosives used in the defense and civilian sectors; other economic products...

Major General Le Quang Tuyen said that units of the General Department of Defense Industry and the Military Telecommunications Industry Group signed 16 contracts with a total value of about 286.3 million USD. Of which, the General Department of Defense Industry has 11 contracts worth 278.3 million USD; the Military Telecommunications Industry Group has 5 contracts worth 8 million USD. In addition, 17 strategic cooperation agreements were signed between Vietnam's defense industry and enterprises of countries with developed defense industries (USA, India, France, Belgium...).

The thematic workshop took place over 4 days with 52 presentations on 2 main topics with 7 sessions.

The Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 was a great success, all criteria and fields far exceeded the set goals and requirements. The exhibition affirmed the correct foreign policy of our Party and State: independence, self-reliance and integration; multilateralization and diversification of relations; being friends with all countries.
