(Dan Tri) - According to the recently approved Hanoi Capital Planning, land after relocating factories, headquarters, and universities according to regulations will be prioritized for building general schools.
Priority is given to building high schools in Cau Giay, Hoan Kiem, Hoang Mai, Hai Ba Trung, and Thanh Xuan districts.
Decision 1569 of the Prime Minister approving the Hanoi Capital Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, identifies Hanoi as the country's leading center for high-quality, standardized and internationally connected education and training.
According to the plan, Hanoi will develop a comprehensive education and training system in line with the socio-economic development needs of the capital and the whole country, responding to advances in science and technology; standardizing, modernizing, and socializing education and training.
Develop diverse types of preschool education to meet the needs of care and nurturing suitable for all ages according to national and international standards.
Developing universal education to international standards, making a breakthrough in developing smart education, education with many advanced, modern, high-quality levels.
Developing schools associated with urban reconstruction projects following the urban development model oriented towards public transport.
Ensure that each commune, ward and town has a kindergarten, primary school and secondary school suitable to actual needs.
Building a high-quality school system according to international school standards in the northern region of the capital.
For high school level, the distribution of schools is appropriate to the needs of learners in residential areas. Priority is given to Cau Giay, Hoan Kiem, Hoang Mai, Hai Ba Trung, and Thanh Xuan districts.
Prioritize the use of land after relocating factories, headquarters, and universities according to regulations to build general schools. Prioritize land to develop educational services for all levels in suburban areas.
For universities and vocational education institutions whose land area and facilities do not meet the requirements for complete relocation, the city will support the construction of infrastructure at a new location and use the old facilities in the inner city for general education and public purposes.
For facilities that do not have to be completely relocated, the old facilities will be used for the purposes of scientific research, technology transfer and innovation, postgraduate training, high-quality vocational training, general education and public space.
The plan advocates relocating universities and vocational schools out of the inner city to satellite urban areas, forming university clusters with a synchronous and modern common infrastructure system.
Upgrading some vocational secondary schools into colleges
In the field of vocational education, Hanoi will develop a system of advanced and modern vocational training facilities that meet ASEAN-4 standards, distributed reasonably in districts, towns, and cities to meet market demand.
Building a national center for high-quality vocational training and practice on the basis of upgrading, expanding and modernizing Hanoi High-Tech Vocational College.
Build a school to perform the function of high-quality vocational training and practice and upgrade a number of vocational secondary schools into colleges.
Hanoi will also promote socialization and encourage the development of non-public schools at all levels of education and training. At the same time, it will expand autonomy for public schools to mobilize and effectively use resources for education and training development in general and for the development of high-quality education and training services in particular.
