(To Quoc) - The first solo exhibition of young artist Pham Duc Long is taking place at the Gucino Art Space Center in Hanoi, displaying 200 of his most favorite works out of hundreds of paintings he has created. Notably, the purpose of the exhibition of this young artist is to sell paintings to raise money to build a school for children in the mountainous areas who are facing difficulties.

The paintings at the exhibition are mainly painted with Acrylic and oil paints in various sizes, including very large paintings. With the theme "Gods and Demons", I have shown a rich and mysterious world. The paintings not only convey messages but also depict Vietnamese fairy tales and folk legends. The use of colors, shapes and unique painting techniques has helped each work become a true work of art. All proceeds from the sale of paintings will be used to build a school for poor children in the highlands, where learning conditions are still very difficult.

During a family trip to Lao Cai in 2023, Duc Long witnessed the difficult and deprived circumstances of his friends in the highlands. From then on, he wanted to contribute to helping them and to fulfill that wish, he asked his father to sell paintings for him.

Currently, students in Hoi Xuan village are still studying temporarily in wooden houses or people's houses.

On December 10, Duc Long signed a sponsorship agreement to build a school (through his father, who is his guardian) with Na Sang Primary Boarding School No. 2, Muong Cha District, Dien Bien Province, to use the money from selling his paintings to fund the entire cost of building a new primary school in Hoi Xuan village. Currently, students here do not have a school and are having to study in people's houses, temporary wooden houses, or have to walk for hours to get to other schools. From his small paintings, he has created a meaningful activity for the community, helping students in the highlands have the opportunity to study and develop.

Pham Duc Long also asked his mother to transfer the first amount of 300 million VND to the school to start construction and will continue to transfer enough money according to the construction progress until the project is completed.
