In recent days, Ukraine has launched a series of drone attacks on Russian energy facilities, causing fires at a major oil refinery in the Volgograd region and the Astrakhan gas processing plant.
"The fires in the oil sludge storage tank in the village of Novominskaya, Kanevsky district, have been completely extinguished," Russian officials announced on the Telegram application on February 4.
Earlier, Krasnodar Governor Veniamin Kondratyev also said there were no casualties in the fire caused by debris from the falling drone.
According to Mr. Kondratyev, a firefighting force of 19 people and specialized equipment participated in extinguishing the fire but did not disclose which oil depot was burned or the extent of the damage.
In a statement on Telegram , the Russian Defense Ministry announced that four Ukrainian drones were shot down over Russian territory on the night of February 4, but did not mention the Krasnodar region.
The agency only announced the number of drones destroyed by Russian air defense systems, but did not reveal the total number of devices launched.
Ukraine has not yet responded. Previously, Kiev asserted that the attacks inside Russian territory were aimed at destroying important infrastructure serving Moscow's special military operation in Ukraine, and at the same time responding to continuous airstrikes against the country.
