Aiming to compete for high achievements, U19 Dong Thap shortened the Tet holiday and started the new year from the 4th until now. Over the past 10 days, the players have been trained by the coaching board to increase intensity, combined with competitive matches to perfect their techniques and tactics. According to Mr. Bui Van Dong - Coach of U19 Dong Thap, despite achieving good results in the qualifying round, the team still has many limitations that need to be overcome. In addition, the age of U19 Dong Thap players is uneven, more than 2/3 are in the 17-18 age group, from which there is a difference in expertise and competitive spirit. Many players are still studying culture (grades 11, 12), affecting the training plan outside the province.
However, with the attention and support of the Board of Directors of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Board of Directors of the Provincial High School for the Gifted, and the Provincial Sports Training and Competition, the U19 Dong Thap team is excited and confident in preparing for the finals. During the training sessions, the coaching board asked the players to implement a training plan to improve their ability to organize defense; deploy quick counterattack plans; and improve the skills and finishing techniques of the strikers on the attack line. To perfect the tactics, the coaching board let the U19 Dong Thap compete with the local U15, U17, and U21 teams. The training matches took place at 1:30 p.m. to help the whole team adapt to the intensity and playing time of the finals and achieve the best physical condition.
Notably, in the U19 Dong Thap squad, there are outstanding individuals such as: striker Le Huynh Trieu, currently a member of the Vietnam U19 team; midfielder Bui Quoc Duy, who used to play for Vietnam U17. Players including: Huu Thien, Hoa Nha, Phuc Thinh, Quoc Trung played consistently, contributing to the overall playing style and results of U19 Dong Thap in the qualifying round of Group E. Showing high determination, the young players of Dong Thap always strive to best fulfill the requirements of the coaching staff in both training and competition.
