Strengthening communication to improve population quality
To promote gender equality and reduce gender imbalance at birth, it is necessary to invest in care, education, love, sharing, and helping girls in difficult circumstances. The City has implemented many activities such as: Implementing a model of pre-marital health consultation and examination; a model of reproductive health care for adolescents and youth... In particular, during the peak period of responding to the International Day of the Girl Child on October 11 this year, Hanoi launched a wide-ranging celebration in the area. Organizing communication points in schools, communicating gender equality, preventing domestic violence, enhancing the role and status of women and girls. Thereby, many good and studious girls have been shown, and many families have implemented population policies well.
However, population work in the capital still faces many difficulties and challenges: Large population size, large residential area, uneven education, awareness and psychology of wanting to have many children and preferring to have sons are still the causes of gender imbalance at birth. According to the population structure, every year, the number of women entering childbearing age remains high along with the rate of mechanical population growth, contributing to the increase in births and population size.
To better perform the city's population and development work, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Health Tran Van Chung requested that all levels and sectors continue to implement Resolution No. 21-NQ/TW of the 6th Conference of the 12th Party Central Committee "On population work in the new situation".
