Consulting and reviewing the Project on sustainable development of fisheries economy in Quang Ninh province

On the morning of September 17, the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations held a consultation and feedback workshop on the Project for sustainable development of the fisheries economy of Quang Ninh province to 2030, with a vision to 2050.

The Project on sustainable development of the fisheries economy of Quang Ninh province to 2030, with a vision to 2050, is being developed by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the province. Up to now, the Project has received comments from 45 units and 12 members of the Review Council chaired by the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations.

Receiving the comments, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development revised the project and reported to the Provincial People's Committee for comments on July 2, 2024. Based on the comments, criticisms and clarifications of some related contents in the Project, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development received and continued to ask for comments for the second time. Up to now, 36 units have contributed comments to the Project.

The representative of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development briefly presented the Project on sustainable development of the fisheries economy of Quang Ninh province to 2030, with a vision to 2050.

At the workshop, members of the Review Council chaired by the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations continued to analyze and clarify a number of issues surrounding the Project on sustainable development of the fisheries economy of Quang Ninh province to 2030, with a vision to 2050. They emphasized a number of key contents, such as: The basis for developing the Project; viewpoints, orientations, and objectives of the Project; organization of implementation and evaluation of the effectiveness of the Project, etc.

At the same time, recommendations were made to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development on a number of issues, such as: Identifying and positioning the Project to implement and concretize the Marine Spatial Planning, Provincial Planning, Provincial Land Use Planning and local planning; reviewing, reducing and prioritizing the most urgent projects to be implemented based on the perspective of identifying the current shortcomings that need to be overcome to develop the Quang Ninh fisheries industry; setting more positive targets in a number of tasks; solutions to mobilize resources for projects and tasks of the Project and attracting human resources to implement the Project in particular and develop the fisheries economy in general...

Members of the Review Council chaired by the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations presented comments, criticisms and recommendations on the Project.

The comments, criticisms and recommendations at the workshop will be fully received and synthesized by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to continue perfecting the Project on sustainable development of the fisheries economy of Quang Ninh province to 2030, with a vision to 2050, to be submitted to the Provincial People's Committee for comments and approval.
