On June 25, the People's Procuracy of Binh Duong province transferred the case file and indictment to the People's Court of the same level, proposing to prosecute 11 defendants, former officers and employees of the 61-08D Motor Vehicle Inspection Center (Tan Dinh Ward, Ben Cat City), for the crime of accepting bribes.
The defendants proposed for prosecution include: Le Minh Quang, Nguyen Manh Tuong (both former deputy directors of the center); Ho Hoang Hai (former head of department); Nguyen Ngoc Hoang An, Ha Quoc Tuan, Tran Thi Ngoc Huyen (all professional staff); Hoang Thanh Phuong, Le Thai Quoc Cuong, Nguyen Xuan Nhan, Dinh The Son, Doan Phuoc Tan (all inspectors).
Police blockaded and searched the 61-08D Vehicle Inspection Center.
The investigation determined that from July 2020 to October 2022, during the process of vehicle inspection, 11 officers, employees, and inspectors of the 61-08D Motor Vehicle Inspection Center received bribes of over 100 million VND from vehicle owners and drivers to ignore technical errors and accept modified motor vehicles...
Defendant Le Minh Quang, in his role as deputy director in charge of the center, directed employees and inspectors to receive bribes and then set up a fund to distribute to staff in the center.
As Thanh Nien reported, on the evening of February 28, 2023, Binh Duong Provincial Police blocked off and searched the 61-08D Motor Vehicle Inspection Center to investigate and collect evidence.
Afterwards, the officers, inspectors, and employees of the center involved were prosecuted and investigated for bribery.
