On the evening of November 8, the University of Economics and Law (Ho Chi Minh City National University) announced its plan for regular university enrollment in 2025.
Accordingly, in 2025, the school plans to enroll students according to 3 admission methods.
Method 1: Direct admission and priority for direct admission (up to 20% of total enrollment quota).
Method 2: Admission based on the results of the 2025 Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam (about 40 - 60% of total enrollment target).
Method 3: Admission based on high school graduation exam results in 2025 (about 30-50% of total target).
What's new in the admissions committee?
Notably, in 2025, the school will use 4 subject combinations for admission, including: math - English - literature; math - English - physics; math - English - information technology; math - English - economic and legal education.
Compared to the previous admission combinations, in 2025 the school will remove 2 combinations with few candidates registered, replacing them with new combinations including: math - English - IT; math - English - economic education and law. In the 2 new combinations, the school will use 2 new subjects of the 2018 General Education program: IT, economic education and law.
Master Cu Xuan Tien, Head of the School's Admissions and Student Affairs Department, said that these four combinations apply to all majors, and the common point of all combinations is that they all include math and English. "This plan is designed to select good candidates, ensuring input quality that is suitable for the school's training requirements and meets the strict demands of the labor market," Master Tien added.
According to Master Cu Xuan Tien, the new point of the 2025 admission method of the University of Economics and Law is to reduce the number of methods. The school will announce the detailed admission plan before February 2025 for the specific admission method.
In 2024, the University of Economics and Law will enroll students according to 5 methods. Method 1 is direct admission, with priority given to direct admission (up to 5% of total enrollment). Method 2 is priority admission according to the regulations of Ho Chi Minh City National University (up to 20% of total enrollment). Method 3 is admission based on the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam (30-50% of total enrollment). Method 4 is admission based on the results of the competency assessment exam organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University in 2024 (up to 50% of total enrollment). Method 5 is admission based on the results of international certificates combined with high school results or SAT/ACT certificates/International Baccalaureate (IB)/A-Level certificates.
