Dr. Quach Thanh Hai and Associate Professor Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh were both appointed to the position of Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education.
The Board of Directors of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education decided to appoint two Vice Presidents for the 2020-2025 term, Dr. Quach Thanh Hai (Head of Training Department) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh (Head of Construction Department).
Mr. Quach Thanh Hai, 52 years old, from Ninh Binh, is currently a Party Committee member and a member of the School Council for the 2020-2025 term. He is a former student of the Electrification and Power Supply Department of the school. In 1995, after graduating, he continued to work at the school and held many positions such as Deputy Head of the Faculty of Electricity, Deputy Head of the Department of In-service Training Management, Head of the Department of Non-formal Training (now the Department of Cooperation and Training Development), Head of the Department of Administration and Project Management, Head of the Department of Training.
Mr. Chau Dinh Thanh, 49 years old, from Quang Binh, is currently a Party Committee member, Deputy Head of the Party Committee Inspection Committee, and member of the School Council for the 2020-2025 term. He started working at the school in 2012 after graduating with a PhD in Construction from Korea University. After that, Mr. Thanh was Head of the Department of Construction Structures, Faculty of Construction and Applied Mechanics, and continued to hold the positions of Deputy Head of the Faculty of Construction and Applied Mechanics, and Head of the Faculty of Construction.
The school's board of directors currently has Associate Professor Dr. Le Hieu Giang as Acting Principal and the two newly appointed Vice Principals mentioned above.
Regarding the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, VietNamNet recently reported that more than 1,000 students of the school were scheduled to receive academic warnings and were forced to drop out due to poor academic performance. In addition, nearly 1,000 other students were placed on academic probation.
