British University Vietnam signs cooperation agreement with City St George's University - University of London and CEFALT
The cooperation between the three organizations opens up many new promises, contributing to strengthening the educational cooperation relationship between Vietnam and the UK.
On September 16, at the headquarters of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, British University Vietnam (BUV) and City St George's University - University of London, in cooperation with the Center for Training and Fostering Diplomacy and Foreign Languages (CEFALT), officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), opening a new chapter in training cooperation and improving the quality of international education for diverse groups of students in and outside Vietnam.

Extensive cooperation in many key areas
The three units will cooperate extensively in many key areas during the 2024-2029 period.
Firstly, establish and provide international joint training opportunities for all training programs, creating a bridge to bring students to access high-quality international education and diversify learning options.
Second, cooperate to attract funding in research areas, help strengthen capacity, innovate science, develop new initiatives, and contribute to the development of science, education and the economy.
Third, strengthen the strategic partnership between BUV and City St George's University - University of London.
Fourth, international cooperation in online teaching, improving distance learning capabilities and access to international educational content.
Fifth, implement student exchange programs, including short-term study tours.
Finally, build a learning path and/or program articulation, facilitating students to transfer and complete their programs at schools in the network.
Attending the signing ceremony, Mr. Vo Van Hoan - Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee emphasized that these agreements are a solid foundation for the exchange of expertise and knowledge between schools and centers, while opening up many opportunities for international cooperation.
"We can establish another British university, focusing on programs such as Technology and Finance, along with other international universities in Ho Chi Minh City to enhance the internationality of Vietnamese students," said Mr. Vo Van Hoan.
Ms. Alexandra Smith, British Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, said: "This will be an opportunity for us to discuss common goals and identify effective cooperation methods to create a solid foundation for the establishment of a future campus in Ho Chi Minh City."

Multilateral strategic partnership
Sharing about the cooperation content, Professor Rick Bennett - Vice President and Vice President of BUV said: “This strategic partnership marks an important step forward in multilateral cooperation towards increasing the benefit value for all students and lecturers in the BUV network. Through strengthening the connection with partners with the same vision, we continue to affirm our commitment to bringing students international quality, convenient and lifelong learning and training experiences, contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam's education”.
Mr. Mai Anh Thai - Director of CEFALT said: "Today's cooperation signing ceremony is very meaningful for the educational and training activities of the parties, opening up many joint activities in the coming time, bringing British education closer to the people of the City and the Southern localities".
For the University of London, this is a long-standing training and degree-granting partner of BUV in undergraduate training programs. BUV is the exclusive provider of the International Foundation Programme (IFP) of the University of London in Vietnam. BUV is currently one of the few internationally recognized training institutions of the University of London in the world to achieve the Quality Accreditation of the University of London.
On this basis, the cooperation contents not only improve access to high-quality education for the city's residents but also affirm the commitment of the parties in bringing British education closer to student groups in Vietnam.
BUV is the only university in Vietnam to receive a 5-star rating from Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), and the first university in Vietnam and ASEAN to receive global quality accreditation from QAA, the UK’s Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education. These are two of the most prestigious accreditation bodies in the world.
