On the afternoon of September 20, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, Comrade Le Minh Hung, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organizing Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Parliamentarians' Group, received Mr. Takebe Tsutomu, Special Advisor to the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians' Alliance, who is visiting and working in Vietnam.

Special Advisor to the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians' Union Takebe Tsutomu sent his deepest condolences to the Vietnamese people for the losses caused by the recent Typhoon Yagi. He shared his enthusiasm for the Vietnam-Japan University (VJU) Project, expressing his hope that the Project will become a symbolic focal point for the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Japan, contributing to strengthening the friendship between the two countries, especially the young generation, promoting cooperation between the two countries in many fields, including politics, economics, and cooperation in training high-quality human resources not only for Vietnam, Asia but also the whole world. In his role as Special Advisor to the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians' Union, Mr. Takebe hopes that the two Unions/Friendship Parliamentarians' Groups of the two countries will increase exchanges and cooperation, making an important contribution to promoting the development of relations between the two countries. Comrade Le Minh Hung expressed his gratitude to the Government and people of Japan for sharing and timely supporting equipment for reconstruction after the recent storm No. 3. Comrade Le Minh Hung expressed his joy at the good development of Vietnam - Japan relations, especially the phone call between General Secretary, President To Lam and Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party, Prime Minister of Japan Kishida Fumio on September 3, 2024, which achieved important results, strongly promoting the relationship between the two countries in the coming time. Comrade Le Minh Hung expressed his appreciation for Mr. Takebe's positive contributions and affection for Vietnam and the Vietnam - Japan relationship; believing that the Vietnam - Japan University Project will contribute to the development of high-quality human resources. Comrade Le Minh Hung affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to and wishes to further strengthen the Vietnam - Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Comrade Le Minh Hung suggested that the two Friendship Parliamentary Groups/Unions of the two countries continue to cooperate closely to promote the development of the bilateral relationship to a new height.
