The Ministry of Home Affairs said that in February, the Ministry proactively drafted, collected opinions from ministries, branches, and localities, and posted on the Government's electronic information portal on this issue in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Promulgation of Legal Documents.
Based on the opinions of ministries, branches, localities and people in April 2023, the Ministry has sent it to the Ministry of Justice for appraisal. The Ministry of Home Affairs is urgently receiving and explaining the opinions of the Ministry of Justice and will submit it to the Government in May 2023 to adjust the basic salary from VND 1.49 million to VND 1.8 million from July 1, 2023.
Previously, at the 4th Session, the 15th National Assembly passed Decree No. 69/2022/QH15 on the state budget estimate for 2023. In this resolution, the National Assembly resolved that from July 1, 2023, the basic salary for cadres, civil servants and public employees will be increased to 1.8 million VND/month; pensions and social insurance benefits will be increased by 12.5% for those guaranteed by the state budget and additional support for those who retired before 1995 with low benefits will be provided.
