The second exhibition is hosted by the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense with the aim of sharing achievements and experiences in research, production, and use of weapons and equipment and promoting cooperation in the defense industry among the countries participating in the exhibition.
Right from the first time it was held, the exhibition attracted a large number of defense agencies and enterprises to participate, introducing the latest products and technologies applied to defense and security to high-ranking international delegations and partners attending the exhibition.
This year’s exhibition, themed Peace, Friendship, Cooperation and Development, took place at Gia Lam Airport. This is one of the key activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day.
At the exhibition, domestic and international defense enterprises will display and introduce combat vehicles, technological solutions, weapons, equipment for the Navy, Army, Air Defense - Air Force, cyber warfare and logistics and technical equipment. Vietnamese products displayed and introduced at the exhibition include products researched and manufactured by agencies and units of the Ministry of National Defense and commercial and service companies of the Ministry of National Defense.
Speaking with VietNamNet reporter, Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of Vietnam Coast Guard, said that for Vietnam Coast Guard, this international defense exhibition is very important.
Through the exhibition, the Vietnam Coast Guard will have a vivid, intuitive view of defense products and an objective assessment of the capacity of domestic defense industry units, which have produced and manufactured a lot of technical equipment for the Vietnam Coast Guard over the years.
About two-thirds of the current number of ships of the Vietnam Coast Guard are newly built at factories of the General Department of Defense Industry.
The presence of defense products from major defense powers is an opportunity for the Vietnam Coast Guard to research and learn about advanced defense products and modern technological solutions suitable for the functions and tasks of the Vietnam Coast Guard.
Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai cited patrol ships, support ships, unmanned aerial vehicles, unmanned reconnaissance boats, reconnaissance and observation equipment, etc.
From there, there will be a proposal and report to the Ministry of National Defense to select suitable products, select appropriate channels for cooperation in purchasing, receiving, and transferring technology to produce technical equipment and logistics equipment to meet the needs of the Vietnam Coast Guard in particular and the Vietnam People's Army in general in the immediate and long-term periods.
In addition, Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai said that the research on defense products at this exhibition is also the basis for the Vietnam Coast Guard to coordinate with relevant agencies and units to propose and report to the Ministry of National Defense to implement "orders" for the General Department of Defense Industry on the design and manufacture of advanced and modern defense products to meet mission requirements in the current situation.
