On November 20, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), the Organizing Committee of the photo contest "PetroVietnam in me" held the Award Ceremony and opened the photo exhibition of the contest.
Attending the ceremony were comrade Hoang Quoc Vuong, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PetroVietnam; comrades in the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, members of the Board of Directors, the Board of General Directors, leaders of the Group's political and social organizations, representatives of the Group's member units in the Northern region, representatives of the Organizing Committee, the Jury of the photo contest "PetroVietnam in me" and the winners of the contest in the Northern region.
The Organizing Committee of the contest believes that it will receive works reflecting the simple beauty in the labor and work of officials, employees, and oil and gas workers, the magnificence of oil and gas projects, and moments that leave special impressions...
The contest accepts entries from 00:00 on October 13, 2023 to 24:00 on November 10, 2023. As soon as the portal opened, the Organizing Committee received enthusiastic responses from units, officers, employees, and workers of the entire Group.
Typical: PVOIL, the Oil and Gas Trade Union has launched a campaign to a large number of employees; PV Drilling organized field trips for employees to take the best photos for the contest; PV GAS launched a campaign for 100% of its affiliated units to participate in the contest. Notably, until the last day of receiving entries, a large number of entries were still "rushed" to the Organizing Committee's email.
There are works sent from offshore rigs, works sent from ships on oil transport routes, photos sent from laboratories and even photos sent from projects in distant countries... Along with that are lines of confidences, sharing, especially both pride and regret about very valuable photos that cannot be entered into the contest, because of the nature of the job, they are "silent feats" of oil and gas workers.

With strong enthusiasm and overflowing emotions, in less than 1 month, the Organizing Committee received more than 2,000 single and photo series entries from nearly 500 authors from various units. Of these, there were 1,802 valid entries from 477 authors, corresponding to 1,523 single photos and 279 photo series. The entries were not only rich in content, vividly depicting production and business activities, the beauty of oil and gas workers, but also contained the special feelings of workers for PetroVietnam.
Immediately after the end of the contest entries, the Jury, with the participation of prestigious experts and journalists, promptly conducted the preliminary judging. Artist Vu Huyen - Photo critic, former Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, President of the Photography Art Council, former Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Photography Magazine and photographer Pham Tien Dung - former Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Photography Magazine commented: The contest has many beautiful works, showing that the authors are knowledgeable about photography, have creative research, use many recording methods, some photos are taken by flycam. Many photos are realistic, capture valuable moments, highlight the characteristics of the Oil and Gas industry, contain oil and gas culture... There are truly photos that only oil and gas people can have.
With experience in judging many photo contests, the Jury believes that this is a successful contest. Although the quality is not consistent, there are many beautiful photos and a large number of entries, demonstrating the positive response of staff and workers. Among them, there are many quality works from units such as Vietsovpetro, PV Drilling, BSR, PV Power, PV GAS, etc.
After two preliminary and final rounds, the Jury has selected the best works. Based on the entries and the results from the Jury, the Organizing Committee decided that for the single photo category, it will award 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes and 10 Consolation Prizes; for the photo series category, it will award 1 First Prize, 1 Second Prize, 3 Third Prizes and 5 Consolation Prizes.
