Implementing the project "Sustainable production and consumption ecosystem"

With the attention of the Provincial People's Committee, together with Ms. Pham Thi Hong Yen - Standing Member of the National Assembly Economic Committee (term XV), recently, the Provincial Cooperative Union (Cooperative) held a meeting to deploy the implementation plan of the project "Sustainable production and consumption ecosystem" of dragon fruit in the province.

The meeting was also attended by TECHCOOP Investment & Technology Cooperation Joint Stock Company, Binh Thuan Agricultural Extension Center, 30 delegates including dragon fruit cooperatives in the province and export enterprises.

At the meeting, Mr. Phan Dinh Khiem - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Cooperative Union said that in Binh Thuan, dragon fruit is identified as an advantage tree and a specialty of the province, dragon fruit production plays an important role in the development of the province's agricultural and rural economy. Therefore, the implementation of an ecosystem for sustainable production and consumption of dragon fruit is necessary to support cooperatives and farming households to produce according to VietGap, Global Gap standards... in compliance with conditions on fertilizers, pesticides, biosafety and towards clean agriculture.

Thereby, affirming the role of the Cooperative Union in the central position, acting as a bridge between input and output: Receiving information and requests from agricultural extension to member cooperatives and farmer households; Building a control department, an accounting department; Building a code of conduct for the ecosystem. Through the implementation plan of this project, it will help cooperative members and cooperative groups in the province have the opportunity to expand the stable domestic and foreign dragon fruit consumption market such as: Big C supermarket system, Winmart, Japan, USA, Dubai, China... Thereby, it will help the dragon fruit production cooperatives of the province to develop more and more sustainably.
