Following VietNamNet's report on the foul odor emanating from a pig farm in Vu Ban district (Nam Dinh), the Secretary of Vu Ban District Party Committee directed drastic measures to deal with the problem.
Regarding VietNamNet's report on the pig farm of Bach Phuong Production, Trade and Service Joint Stock Company (Bach Phuong Company) located in Lang Moi village, Dai Thang commune, Vu Ban district, emitting an unpleasant odor that made people lose their appetite and sleep, Vu Ban District Party Secretary Tran Minh Hoan said that the district has established a working group to inspect and clarify.
Currently, the district has requested the farm to immediately stop restocking and, at the same time, urgently sell all existing pigs to thoroughly handle the stench spreading into the surrounding environment.
“Our point of view is very clear, that is, the health of the people must be put first. The district has given very clear instructions, the farm must sell all the pigs, no new ones are allowed. If they do not comply, we will take measures to handle them,” said Mr. Hoan.
Vu Ban District Party Secretary added that the company has initially taken measures such as purchasing biological products to reduce odor and is speeding up the export of pigs.
To ensure transparency and efficiency, Vu Ban District Party Secretary also called on people to directly supervise the implementation process.
“I went directly to the farm to inspect the situation and also asked the people to monitor what I had directed. If they discover that the company is not complying, they can report it directly to me for immediate handling,” Mr. Hoan emphasized.
Previously, according to the reflection of the people of Lang Moi village, from the beginning of 2023 until now, their daily life and production have been seriously affected by the stench coming from the pig farm of Bach Phuong Company.
