These are only preliminary studies according to the planning. The HCM City Department of Transport will carefully calculate the options to ensure the suitability and feasibility of the project.

Recently, after Bach Dang Wharf Park was renovated, attracting more and more tourists and locals to visit, Ton Duc Thang Street often experiences traffic congestion, especially on weekend evenings.

Previously, according to the architectural management regulations approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee in 2022, the Bach Dang wharf park adjacent to Nguyen Huu Canh Street - Saigon River with an area of 11.96 hectares will reserve the ground of Ton Duc Thang Street along the park for pedestrian and tram space. According to this plan, Ton Duc Thang Street will be underground with two lanes in each direction. In addition, there will be an underground parking lot, located about 100 meters south of Me Linh Square on Ngo Van Nam Street.
