Ho Chi Minh City recruits more than 500 students for specialized and integrated 10th grade

Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City announced additional enrollment for grade 10 with 314 quotas for specialized grade 10 and 191 students for integrated grade 10.

The additional entrance exam for specialized and integrated grade 10 for the 2023-2024 school year will take place on January 15, 2024, at Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School (District 3).

Exam time is 150 minutes, with essay format for specialized subjects and integrated subjects.

Students participating in the supplementary entrance exam submit their application from January 5 to 11, 2024 at Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School.

Specific criteria for additional recruitment of specialized 10th graders

Additional admission conditions are that students wish to take the entrance exam for specialized classes at one of the above schools, and at the same time ensure one of the following requirements:

Are non-specialized grade 10 students of public schools who have completed the first semester program of the 2023-2024 school year.

Or specialized grade 10 students who have completed the first semester program of the 2023-2024 school year want to take the entrance exam to another specialized school but the school they are applying to does not organize admission by a common exam (same exam questions, exam sessions) or has organized admission by a common exam (same exam questions, exam sessions) but the student does not meet the admission criteria to the specialized school.

According to the leaders of the Department of Education and Training, this is considered the latest point of this year's additional entrance exam for specialized 10th graders, aiming to create more opportunities for students with aspirations and abilities to participate.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training noted that 10th grade students who have passed the specialized class entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training are not allowed to take the exam.

Students must have good training and study results in the first semester, with an average score of 8.0 or higher for the subject being tested in the first semester.

Students will take a 150-minute exam of their registered specialized subject. The exam content is in the 1st semester program of grade 10.

Admission requirements: Students must have an exam score of 6.0 or higher (on a 10-point scale) and meet all exam requirements, have valid documents, and elective subjects suitable for specialized classes. In case the number of students admitted to a school is greater than the school's enrollment quota, the scores will be considered from high to low until the enrollment quota is met.

Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School recruits additional integrated 10th graders

Recruiting 191 additional students into integrated grade 10

The Department of Education and Training announced the recruitment of 191 additional targets for integrated grade 10 at the following schools: Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted, Nguyen Thuong Hien High School, Gia Dinh, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Bui Thi Xuan, Luong The Vinh, Nguyen Huu Huan, Mac Dinh Chi, and Saigon University Practice High School.

Additional enrollment information for integrated grade 10 of schools is as follows:

Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted : 6 students - elective subjects of integrated class: physics, chemistry, biology, music.

Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted : 18 students - elective subjects of integrated class: physics, chemistry, biology, informatics.

Nguyen Thuong Hien High School : Enrollment quota: 24 - elective subjects of integrated classes: physics, chemistry, biology and 1 elective subject from informatics, technology, economic and legal education, geography.

Gia Dinh High School : Enrollment quota: 36 - elective subjects of integrated classes: physics, chemistry, biology and 1 elective subject from computer science, technology, music, and fine arts.

Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School : Enrollment quota: 12 - elective subjects of integrated classes: physics, chemistry, biology, economic education and law.

Bui Thi Xuan High School : Enrollment quota: 27 - elective subjects of integrated classes: physics, chemistry, biology, economic education and law.

Luong The Vinh High School : Enrollment quota: 19 - elective subjects of integrated classes: physics, chemistry, biology, informatics.

Nguyen Huu Huan High School : Enrollment quota: 22 - elective subjects of integrated class: physics, chemistry, biology, informatics.

Mac Dinh Chi High School: Admission quota: 11 - elective subjects of integrated class: physics, chemistry, biology, informatics.

Saigon University Practical High School : Enrollment quota: 16 - elective subjects of integrated class: physics, chemistry, biology, informatics.

The eligibility for the exam is that 10th grade students studying at public schools have completed the first semester program of the 2023-2024 school year. At the same time, they wish to take the exam for integrated classes at one of the above schools.

Candidates need to have good training and study results in the first semester, and students need to have an average score of 7.5 or higher in math, physics, chemistry, biology, and English in the first semester.

Students will take an integrated exam within 150 minutes, the exam content follows the 1st semester program of grade 10.

Additional admission conditions for integrated grade 10: Students must have an exam score of 5.0 or higher (on a 10-point scale) and meet all exam requirements, have valid documents, and have selected subjects suitable for the integrated class. In case the number of students admitted to a school is greater than the school's quota, the Department of Education and Training will take the scores from high to low until the quota is met.
