Ho Chi Minh City expects to collect 152,682 billion VND from land auctions around metro stations.

Ho Chi Minh City plans to auction many plots of land around metro stations to raise VND152,682 billion. This capital will be reinvested in the city's transport infrastructure.

The Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City has just issued Document No. 4490/STNMT-BTTDC to the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to give comments on the Project to develop the urban railway system of Ho Chi Minh City according to Conclusion No. 49-KL/TW of the Politburo.

This unit said that through review, there are currently 22 land plots directly managed by the State with an area of over 290 hectares located along metro line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien); metro line 2 (Ben Thanh - Tham Luong)...

The estimated budget to support assets attached to land (architecture, crops, livestock) of land areas directly managed by the State is about 2,000 billion VND.

The total estimated cost of compensation and support for land managed and used by people is about 30,153 billion VND.

According to calculations by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the total amount of money collected from the auction of land plots directly managed by the State (290 hectares) and land plots managed and used by people with an area of (357 hectares) is 152,682 billion VND.

The total amount of money collected from the auction of 152,682 billion VND is only a minimum estimate, the exact figure will only be known after the Department of Planning and Architecture provides architectural planning criteria for the land plots.

After reviewing the land fund, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment proposed extending metro line 2 from Tham Luong depot to Ring Road 3 to facilitate the exploitation of more than 2,100 hectares of land along Ring Road 3.

Particularly at the station of metro line 2 adjacent to Ring Road 3 (temporarily called Ring Road 3 station), Hoc Mon District People's Committee is requested to review the land fund of about 400 hectares to develop TOD ( urban development model associated with public transport) to create development momentum for the region.
