Children's Palace, the "heart" of the festival

The Children's Palace at 36 Ly Thai To - the entire childhood sky of generations of Hanoi children, has now become the "heart" of this year's festival.

These days, all the doors here are open. Exhibitions, film screenings, stage performances, playgrounds, architectural installations; combined with satellite events including workshops, experiential journeys invite discovery.

A corner of the Innocent Corridor Pavilon

There, the pavilion "Innocent Corridor" welcomes children to touch, play, and feel the old and new corridors. Notably, the contemporary exhibition "Nostalgia for the Future" with the participation of about 100 artists took place over 9 days, opening up exciting intergenerational "adventures", connecting very diverse pieces.

With the support of VPBank and the contribution of talented artists, designers and curators, the exhibition brings a new look to the Children's Palace that interacts in harmony with the context, while creating a subtle connection and dialogue with each space and memory here.

Curator Pham Minh Hieu shared that "when coming up with the idea, the curatorial team did not want that space to stop in collective memory, lulling us to sleep in nostalgia, but also to project into the future, create the world and think about play". Thereby awakening all senses, encouraging children to continue creating cultural memories, setting the stage for thoughts on how we can live with "heritage".

Children watched cartoons from the 1960s and 1970s: Deserved the Fox, Son Tinh Thuy Tinh, Giant Hand, Cat, Talking Starling… at the Memory Cinema House. Experience printing and interacting with old-fashioned tile patterns, sitting and assembling mosaic tiles and cutting and assembling funny cartoon puppets at the May Imprint Workshop, Tile Assembling Workshop and Puppet Workshop.

At the 2024 Creative Design Festival, the Bac Bo Phu (Government Guest House) opened its doors to the public for the first time.

Pavillion at the Northern Palace

Here, children can visit the Pavilion Dong architectural complex, see the pierced iron bars and remaining pieces of metal, telling the tragic history of the capital of which the Bac Bo Palace is a "witness".

Within the framework of the colorful Creative Design Festival 2024, a very interesting destination is the Old General University, a century-old architectural symbol awakened by creative art. The exhibition "Indochina Senses" for the first time offers the public the opportunity to enter the century-old space of this building and experience a series of vibrant artistic activities. With 22 installations, the exhibition "Indochina Senses" has used many elements of sculpture, images, light, sound... to create interaction and honor this long-standing architectural and artistic heritage, in diverse and creative approaches.

Biology Museum space at the University (old)

Biological museum - a "magical place" for children who love to explore, the artworks have been creatively arranged, combined with scientific specimens to create a new experience.

The Hanoi Creative Design Festival is directed by the Hanoi People's Committee and the Vietnam Association of Architects, co-organized by the Department of Culture and Sports, Architecture Magazine, with the support of the UNESCO Office in Hanoi and Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank). The Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2024 attracts 500 units, architects, artisans and young artists, bringing more than 100 exciting activities in 12 cultural industry fields at 7 historical heritages of the capital. Creative activities are a space for dialogue between heritage and creativity, emphasizing the role of the young generation in inheriting and developing the quintessence of the nation.
