TPO - This year, the majors with the highest benchmark scores belong to Pedagogy, Journalism, Law, Language, etc. with scores from 29 and up.
Similar to every year, the majors with the highest benchmark scores are Pedagogy, Journalism, Law, Language, etc., with benchmark scores of 29 and above. Thus, on average, more than 9.3 points/subject are required to pass.
It is easy to see that majors with high admission scores are all recruited according to block C00.
Many candidates felt shocked when the benchmark score was for Literature Pedagogy and History Pedagogy at Hanoi National University of Education in group C00 with 29.3 points.
The Chinese Studies major of the Diplomatic Academy also has the highest benchmark score of 29.2 points. Following that is the International Communications major in the C00 group with 29.05 points, or majors such as International Relations in the C00 group with 28.76 points, Japanese Studies major with 28.73 points in the C00 group; American Studies, International Law 28.55 in the C00 group; Korean Studies 28.83 in the C00 group...
Similarly, the Public Relations major of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) with 29.1 points.
At Hanoi University of Culture, the highest benchmark score is 28.9 for Journalism group C00. Most of the remaining majors have benchmark scores above 27.
This year, the international communication major of the Diplomatic Academy, the Geography Pedagogy major of the Hanoi National University of Education, the Korean major of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi all have a benchmark score of 29.05; the Journalism major of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has a benchmark score of 29.03.
Because of the extremely high benchmark scores, in reality, many candidates with 29 points still failed their first choice. Many parents are upset about the "inflation" of high test scores, creating a bad social psychology when their children scored 9.75 points per subject but still failed.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Duc Son, Principal of Hanoi National University of Education, said that in fact, if we compare the scores from year to year, this year's scores seem to be too high.
However, according to Mr. Son, if viewed from the perspective of university admissions, recruiting capable people to study and being selective, the selection will be from top to bottom, if there are many people in the top group, then those in the bottom group will lose their opportunity.
"That is the rule of selection so there is nothing unusual" - Mr. Son emphasized.
This year's high benchmark scores have been warned by many admissions experts, especially in hot majors. The test scores of candidates taking the national high school graduation exam in 2024 show that the average scores in Literature, Math, English, Physics, History, and Geography all increased, with Geography increasing the most by 1.04 points.
Explaining the reason why the benchmark scores based on the high school graduation exam results of many schools have increased, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son said that schools with good training quality and high human resource demand will attract many candidates.
According to Deputy Minister Son, some industries do not have many quotas, but large concentrated areas can also push up the benchmark score.
Deputy Minister Son emphasized that if the admission methods ensure fairness and the exam questions are clearly differentiated, there is nothing unusual about high admission scores. However, if fairness is not ensured and candidates can enter through some method more easily, the Ministry needs to have a thorough analysis on this.
Top industries with high benchmark scores in 2024 are as follows:
