At noon on November 5, Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh and his wife, along with a high-ranking Mongolian delegation, left Hanoi, successfully concluding a State visit to Vietnam from November 1 to 5 at the invitation of President Vo Van Thuong and his wife.
Seeing off the delegation at Noi Bai International Airport were: Head of the Office of the President Le Khanh Hai; Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu; Vietnamese Ambassador to Mongolia Doan Khanh Tam; Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen; Director of the State Protocol Department (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) Nguyen Viet Dung and officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On the Mongolian side, there was Ambassador of Mongolia to Vietnam Jigjee Sereejav and a number of officials from the Mongolian Embassy in Hanoi.
During the visit, President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and laid a wreath at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs on Bac Son Street (Ba Dinh, Hanoi).
The President met with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; attended the official welcoming ceremony, held talks, witnessed the signing of cooperation documents, met with the press, and held an official reception with President Vo Van Thuong; met with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.
During the talks and meetings, the leaders of the two countries had substantive discussions on measures to promote bilateral cooperation in the fields of politics, defense, security, economy, education, science and technology, transportation, logistics, culture, tourism and people-to-people exchange, as well as a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern, towards establishing a new, increasingly comprehensive and substantive framework for the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Mongolia diplomatic relations in 2024.
The two sides agreed to continue to increase delegation exchanges and contacts at all levels through the Party, State, Government and National Assembly channels in many flexible forms; coordinate in implementing activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2024; promote the effective implementation of bilateral cooperation agreements, thereby contributing to strengthening political trust between the two countries.
The two sides agreed to continue to cooperate closely and support each other in regional and international forums of mutual interest such as the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement, the WTO, ASEM, ASEAN (ARF), UNESCO, the Ulaanbaatar Dialogue on Northeast Asian Security, and the Asia-Pacific Group on Money Laundering (APG).
During the visit, the two sides signed six cooperation documents. On this occasion, the leaders of the two countries issued a Joint Statement.
Also during the visit, Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh attended and spoke at the Vietnam-Mongolia Business Forum; visited the Cavalry Mobile Police Corps under the Mobile Police Command, Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and visited a number of economic and cultural establishments in Hoa Binh province.
President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh's visit to Vietnam ended successfully, contributing to further promoting the traditional friendship between the two countries, especially in the context that the two countries are looking forward to celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Mongolia diplomatic relations in 2024.
