On the evening of November 22, in Hanoi, the Embassy of Mongolia in Vietnam held a ceremony to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Mongolia diplomatic relations (November 17, 1954 - November 17, 2024).

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan and Chairwoman of the Vietnam-Mongolia Friendship Parliamentarians' Group Dinh Thi Phuong Lan, Vice Chairwoman of the Nationalities Council of the National Assembly attended the ceremony. Also attending the ceremony were: Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia Jadamba Enkhbayar, Chairman of the Mongolian Subcommittee of the Mongolian-Vietnamese Intergovernmental Committee; Ambassador of Mongolia to Vietnam Jigjee Sereejav; Deputy Foreign Minister Do Hung Viet; Senior Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; and a number of deputies to the 15th National Assembly who are members of the Vietnam-Mongolia Friendship Parliamentarians' Group; representatives of leaders of provinces and cities; members of the Friendship Associations of the two countries; officials and staff of the Embassy and the Mongolian community in Vietnam. Opening the ceremony, Mongolian Ambassador to Vietnam Jigjee Sereejav affirmed that the 70th Anniversary of the Establishment of Mongolia-Vietnam Diplomatic Relations (November 17, 1954 - November 17, 2024) marks a historic milestone in the traditional friendship between the two countries. Notably, 2023 is a special milestone in the cooperative relationship between Mongolia and Vietnam with the State visit of Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh to Vietnam and high-level talks between the two sides. Most recently, Comrade To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, paid a State visit to Mongolia in late September 2024 at the invitation of the Mongolian President. Accordingly, the two sides issued a Joint Statement on upgrading bilateral cooperation to the Vietnam-Mongolia Comprehensive Partnership to guide the deep trust and cooperation between the two countries. Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan expressed his delight at Mongolia's socio-economic development achievements, especially the successful implementation of the New Recovery Policy and the 2050 Vision Strategic Goals as well as the Government's Action Program for the 2024-2028 term, thereby making an important contribution to improving people's lives and the international role and position of Mongolia. On behalf of the Government of Vietnam, Minister Le Minh Hoan sent congratulations to the Government and people of Mongolia on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the adoption of the first Constitution of Mongolia (November 26, 1924 - November 26, 2024), thereby creating an important foundation for the construction and development of Mongolia. Minister Le Minh Hoan emphasized that Vietnam and Mongolia have a good traditional friendship, founded by President Ho Chi Minh and Mongolian leaders, and continuously consolidated and developed by generations of leaders and people of the two countries over the past decades.Minister Le Minh Hoan affirmed that Vietnam is ready to stand side by side with Mongolia to continue efforts to develop the Comprehensive Partnership in a more substantive, effective and extensive manner in the coming time.
The two sides regularly help and support each other in the cause of national defense, construction and development. Appreciating and cherishing the precious sentiments that the Mongolian State and people have given to Vietnam during the struggle for independence and national reunification, the friendship, solidarity, faith and aspiration for a bright future of the two nations will be the connecting thread between the two nations over the years. With the important achievements and strong belief in the future, Minister Le Minh Hoan said that the two sides officially declared the establishment of the Vietnam-Mongolia Comprehensive Partnership during the State visit to Mongolia by General Secretary To Lam in September 2024. The visit opened a new stage of development, sharing the belief and aspiration for prosperous development of the two nations. In that spirit, to implement the agreements between the two countries' senior leaders, Minister Le Minh Hoan stated that the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam and the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia successfully organized the 19th Session of the Vietnam-Mongolia Intergovernmental Committee, through which they had specific and substantive exchanges, promoting the development of the Vietnam-Mongolia Comprehensive Partnership in the coming time. Emphasizing that Vietnam always attaches importance to developing relations with Mongolia, considering the Mongolian people as sincere and close friends of the Vietnamese people, Minister Le Minh Hoan affirmed that in the context of the new era - the era of the Vietnamese people's rise, Vietnam is ready to stand side by side with Mongolia to continue to make efforts to develop the Comprehensive Partnership in a more substantive, effective and extensive manner in the coming time, for the common interests of the two peoples, contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.Mongolian Ambassador to Vietnam Jigjee Sereejav delivered the opening speech at the ceremony.
In the context of the complicated and unpredictable developments in the international and regional situation, with many intertwined challenges, on the basis of the achievements, Minister Le Minh Hoan said that the two sides need to continue to strengthen closer cooperation, closely coordinate both in breadth and depth to develop the bilateral relationship substantially and effectively, in accordance with the stature of the Comprehensive Partnership. Also at the ceremony, Mongolian Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry Jadamba Enkhbayar believed that the agreements and commitments between him and Minister Le Minh Hoan - Chairman of the Vietnam Subcommittee in the Vietnam - Mongolia Intergovernmental Committee will be an important foundation contributing to the development of the bilateral relationship; at the same time, he hoped that the State, Government and people of the two countries will continue to accompany and make efforts to promote the Comprehensive Partnership to develop substantially, effectively, comprehensively and long-term in the coming time. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Mongolia diplomatic relations, Chairwoman of the Vietnam-Mongolia Friendship Parliamentarians' Group and Vice Chairwoman of the Nationalities Council of the Vietnamese National Assembly Dinh Thi Phuong Lan sent a flower basket and best wishes to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Vietnam Jigjee Sereejav.Mongolian Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry Jadamba Enkhbayar believes that the agreements and commitments in the Vietnam - Mongolia Intergovernmental Committee will be an important foundation contributing to the development of bilateral relations in the coming time.
