In the latest announcement, the Russian Defense Ministry said: "The Chief of Staff noted the success of the 'eastern' group in liberating the Urozhaine locality and set new tasks for further operations."
Earlier on July 14, the Ministry announced for the first time the control of the village of Urozhaine: "Thanks to successful actions, the 'eastern' group of forces has taken control of the Urozhaine locality in the Donetsk region... and is carrying out cleanup and mine clearance operations."

Ukraine has not made any official comment on who controls the village of Urozhaine, which was seized by Russian forces in February 2022 and recaptured by Ukraine last year.
Meanwhile, unofficial Ukrainian bloggers have acknowledged that Ukrainian forces have relinquished control of Urozhaine. Bloggers have also posted videos purportedly from Russia, showing Moscow troops raising a flag atop the Urozhaine government building.
A Ukrainian military blog said its forces withdrew from Urozhaine and the village of Krynky in the southern Kherson region several weeks ago.
The Kherson region was controlled by Russian troops in the early days of the conflict, but Ukraine recaptured large swaths of the region over the next few months, including the highly publicized capture of Krynky on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River.
Since capturing the strategic town of Avdiivka in the Donetsk region in February, Russian forces have taken control of a number of significant villages. The area is the focus of Russia's advance through eastern Ukraine.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not mention the village of Urozhaine in its late evening report, but reported fighting in two areas further north in the Donetsk region.
