The Tax sector has implemented digital transformation, administrative reform, reduced cumbersome procedures, applied electronic invoices, applied AI (artificial intelligence) to analyze tax data, collected taxes from cross-border and domestic e-commerce platforms, connected payment initiators with tax authorities, synchronized tax codes with citizen identification numbers, etc. to help taxpayers save time and costs.
According to the General Department of Taxation, one of the outstanding applications is the use of AI technology to detect unusual transactions and identify taxpayer risks. The intelligent analysis system will automatically scan and process data, giving timely warnings so that taxpayers can take appropriate corrective measures, thereby minimizing unwanted errors.
In addition, big data analysis technology is deployed to serve the forecasting and planning of state budget revenue. Thanks to the ability to process huge data, modern analysis models help tax authorities make accurate and practical management decisions.
To improve the taxpayer experience, the Tax sector is expanding the deployment of the AI Chatbot system nationwide, allowing taxpayers to find information and answer questions about tax policies and procedures quickly, accurately and conveniently, without having to go directly to the tax authority.
In particular, the digital transformation process of the Tax sector is the pilot implementation of Virtual Assistant for tax officials in debt management at the Hanoi Tax Department from January 2025. Virtual Assistant not only supports officials in monitoring and handling tax debts but also optimizes time and resources, helping to increase work efficiency.
In addition, the General Department of Taxation will also build a risk management application system based on data collection from operational applications and from third parties (banks, natural resources and environment agencies, police agencies, etc.) or data collected from social networks and the internet.
From there, analyze according to criteria or apply artificial intelligence (big data analysis, using machine learning methods) to serve tax management in the fields of e-commerce, anti-transfer pricing, related-party transactions, tax management for real estate...
The General Department of Taxation affirms that digital transformation is an inevitable task in the context of the economy undergoing strong changes. With the motto of "taking taxpayers as the center of service", the Tax sector is committed to continuing to innovate, improve technology and develop modern applications to best support people and businesses.
