Comrade Nguyen Manh Cuong: In recent years, family work has received attention, leadership and direction from Party committees, authorities, unions and organizations and has been effectively implemented. Awareness of all levels, sectors and people about the role and position of family, family work and family violence prevention and control has had positive changes and there has been coordination in the implementation process. Propaganda, mobilization and education on behavior change have always been maintained and strengthened. The content and forms of communication are diverse and timely, creating positive effects, attracting a large number of people to respond and participate in movements, models and campaigns in the locality. The organization and staff of family work from the provincial to the grassroots level have been focused on building, consolidating and perfecting. The work of preliminary and final reviews, inspections, supervision and rewards has been seriously implemented...
In the province, there are currently many movements being deployed, many models being implemented, contributing positively to family life education, such as: Model "Women actively studying, working creatively, building happy families"; movements to build "A prosperous, progressive, happy and civilized family", "Family of 5 no's, 3 clean's", "Advice corner on family life education, pre-marital education, pre-marital counseling" of the Women's Union; model "Self-managed clans"; "Peaceful hamlets, streets, happy families" of the Provincial Police; movement to build "Happy farmer families" of the Farmers' Association; movement "Exemplary grandparents, filial children and grandchildren" of the Elderly Association, etc.
The lives of people, households and communities are increasingly improved, with conditions to pay more attention to the material and spiritual life of each person. Education on family life; protection, care and education of children; care and support for grandparents and parents are enhanced; awareness of domestic violence prevention and control is raised, the number of domestic violence cases has significantly decreased. Domestic violence prevention and control work is organized and implemented throughout the province to the grassroots level.
Up to now, the whole province has maintained 19 "Consulting corners for family life education, pre-marital education, pre-marital counseling", 9 core groups "Men say no to domestic violence", 292 clubs for building happy families, 5 no's, 3 clean families, building new rural areas, civilized urban areas and 243 clubs for "Women with the law", "Gender equality", "Prevention and control of domestic violence"...
The province currently has 1,593 groups of domestic violence prevention and control, 1,410 clubs for building sustainable families; 170 medical facilities for examination, treatment and temporary shelter for victims of domestic violence. Along with that, in communes, wards and towns, 143 hotlines and 1,169 trusted addresses in the community have been established, ready to receive and support victims when domestic violence occurs; regularly monitor the situation of the population, promptly detect and reconcile conflicts and disagreements in the family...
PV: What activities does the province focus on in family work, sir?
Comrade Nguyen Manh Cuong: Propaganda work is considered one of the key solutions for family work in Ninh Binh province. Every year, the Provincial Steering Committee for Family Work has directed and guided the implementation of widespread propaganda work to raise awareness of Party committees at all levels, authorities and people about the great significance of family work in improving the quality of life, ensuring social security, building and enhancing family cultural values in the new situation.
The propaganda time is focused on family work celebrations such as: International Day of Happiness (March 20); Vietnamese Family Day (June 28); National Action Month on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control (June); International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and Girls (November 25); Action Month for Gender Equality and Prevention of Gender-Based Violence (November 15 - December 15) every year...
The propaganda content is diverse and rich, focusing on propagating the Party's guidelines and policies, new policies and documents on family work. Along with that, direct propaganda activities in the community through conferences, seminars, competitions, performances, propaganda sessions, thematic talks, consultations, visits, etc.
Agencies and units also actively take advantage of social networks to improve the quality and effectiveness of propaganda work on family work in the development of the 4.0 digital revolution... Through that, many typical examples appear in life in all fields.
Many families have 3 or 4 generations living together warmly and happily, raising successful children, being an example of love and sharing, of equality among family members. Contributing to improving the effectiveness and quality of the movement, actively supporting the preservation and promotion of national identity, building a healthy lifestyle, fighting against the penetration of harmful culture, and repelling social evils.
The Department of Culture and Sports also guides departments, branches, organizations and localities to strengthen the organization of cultural, artistic and sports activities on anniversaries such as Vietnamese Family Day, International Day of Happiness, World Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and Girls... At the same time, organize to commend and honor typical cultural families to spread typical advanced examples in building prosperous, progressive, happy and civilized families.
In addition, the Department of Culture also coordinates with agencies, units, organizations, and unions of the province and localities to promote propaganda and education activities, integrate the implementation of family work with the task of socio-economic development and the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life", focusing on building cultural families; cultural villages and residential groups; cultural agencies, units, and enterprises.
The staff working in family affairs at all levels are also regularly trained to improve their professional capacity in family affairs, family planning, and are equipped with skills in organizing club activities, group activities, organizing propaganda, consulting, and supporting family planning groups...
PV: In reality, building a cultural family still faces certain difficulties, and in some places it is still a formality. What do you think is the reason?
Comrade Nguyen Manh Cuong: It is true that in some establishments, the organization of registration for building cultural families and the work of evaluating and recognizing cultural titles are sometimes still formal and have not received due attention. In reality, there are families who are very aware, appreciate and make efforts to achieve the title of cultural family. However, there are also many families who do not pay attention to this issue. The reason is that the propaganda and mobilization work in some localities has not been effectively implemented. The setting of good examples, good deeds, and advanced models in the movement to build cultural families and happy families is still limited.
Along with that, the negative side of the market economy and the 4.0 industrial revolution, the context of cultural exchange also has a significant impact on family life and traditional cultural values of the family. Divorce, domestic violence, inequality in the family, violence, child abuse... still occur. Therefore, it is necessary to have the efforts and cooperation of all levels, sectors and people in organizing and implementing, towards building sustainable development values of the family.
PV: This year, what is the meaning of the message sent to families on Vietnamese Family Day, June 28, and what are the key activities in our province to respond, sir?
Comrade Nguyen Manh Cuong: In 2023, the theme chosen to respond to Vietnamese Family Day (June 28) is "Happy Family - Prosperous Nation". This is a new theme with profound educational and humanistic meanings. This theme focuses on family relationships and their importance to the development and prosperity of a nation. Family is the first cradle, the place where each individual begins to develop, learn and build their own values and qualities. Happy families are considered the foundation for forming happy and healthy citizens, serving as the basis for sustainable economic, political, cultural and social development for the nation.
In relation, one of the important goals of a country's economic, political, cultural and social policies is to develop family work, creating conditions for each family to have "happiness", thereby contributing to the prosperity of each community and the whole nation. This theme carries great hopes and creates positive effects, evoking the spirit of solidarity, joining hands to build a prosperous, progressive, happy and civilized family, contributing to building a society and nation that is increasingly sustainable and prosperous.
Agencies, organizations and localities in Ninh Binh province will base on the situation, characteristics and specific conditions to choose appropriate forms of response, ensuring safety and effectiveness; mobilize people of all walks of life to participate in organizing activities on Vietnamese Family Day (June 28) with basic activities such as: Organizing conferences, seminars and forums on the theme of Vietnamese Family Day such as: activities, talks on building happy families; seminars on life skills to build happy families, gender equality, family behavior culture; exchange activities, competitions on Gender equality models... in residential areas, which can be integrated into the activities of grassroots clubs; organizing honoring of individuals, groups and communities with active activities in building happy families and gender equality.
Along with that, organize charity activities, visit and help families in difficult circumstances, in remote areas, ethnic minority areas, mountainous areas. Organize cultural, artistic, sports activities, club activities or specialized activities of organizations in response to Vietnamese Family Day and National Action Month on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control. Encourage performing arts activities to serve the community, sightseeing, entertainment, etc. Organize competitions, contests, exhibitions of paintings, photos, books or film screenings on the theme of building happy families and domestic violence prevention and control...
Thereby raising the awareness of the whole society about the role and position of family and family work; honoring the good traditional cultural values of Vietnamese families in general, families in Ninh Binh province in particular, towards the sustainable development of families in the period of industrialization, modernization and international integration.
