On the morning of November 30, Vietnam Television Center Central Highlands (VTV8) held the announcement ceremony of the running race "VTV8 Son Tra Run Challenge 2023" with the message "Running in the clouds - Running is running...".
The running race "VTV8 Son Tra Run Challenge 2023" is jointly organized by the People's Committee of Son Tra District (Da Nang City) and Vietnam Television Center Central Highlands - Central Region (VTV8).
Accordingly, the tournament will officially start on December 23 and 24, 2023 in Son Tra Peninsula, Da Nang with 3 competition distances of 6km, 16km and 26km. Participants are all athletes, running groups, and running enthusiasts who want to compete and have an interesting experience at Son Tra Peninsula.
Nearly 2,000 athletes are expected to compete on a specially designed course with lush green landscapes and a slope of nearly 1,000m straight up to the top of Son Tra. Each distance will have water stations, fixed medical support stations and mobile medical motorbikes to promptly support and refuel the runners.
The athletes participating this time are from 12 years old (with 6km distance), from 16 years old (with 16km, 26km distance) not only from the country but also from more than 10 countries and territories. The Organizing Committee will recognize the competition results and award prizes to the athletes who achieve first, second, third place in 3 distances and other prizes for male and female athletes.
In addition to promoting the spirit of physical exercise and developing a community that loves sports, the VTV8 Son Tra Run Challenge also aims to introduce the cultural beauty and scenery of Son Tra peninsula and arouse awareness of appreciating and protecting nature and wildlife.
Athletes will have the opportunity to challenge themselves with challenging slopes but will also enjoy unique feelings when running in the early morning mist, running through bright clouds, catching the first rays of sunlight on Son Tra peak and admiring the beautiful Da Nang city from above.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Truong Duy Hoa, Deputy Director of VTV8 - Vietnam Television Center in the Central Highlands region, said that currently, the theme of green living is a popular trend all over the world. The definition of green living goes beyond living in areas with lots of trees, it also includes efforts for the community to live together in a truly green - clean - bright environment.
Therefore, on the sidelines of the VTV8 - Son Tra Challenge 2023 race, there will be a series of accompanying environmental activities. Through the race, the organizers want to spread the message towards the actions of all participants: join hands to spread green, reduce plastic waste, and protect the environment.
