The Deputy Prime Minister spoke at the opening ceremony of the Hung Temple Festival, the 2023 Culture - Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land, the National Festival of Intangible Cultural Heritage recognized by UNESCO and the 20th Anniversary of the Implementation of the 2003 UNESCO Convention on the evening of April 21 at Hung Vuong Square, Viet Tri City, Phu Tho Province.
Mr. Christian Manhart - Head of UNESCO Representative Office in Vietnam, representatives of international organizations and embassies in Vietnam also attended the program.
Hung King Worship and Vietnamese Strength
Speaking at the program, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha affirmed: The worship of Hung Kings - the nation's wisdom - is closely associated with the tradition of wet rice agriculture, the will to be self-reliant and the spirit of solidarity against foreign invaders and natural disasters, creating Vietnam's strength.
Along with 14 typical intangible cultural values, the Hung King worship ritual has been honored by UNESCO as a world intangible heritage.
With 15 intangible heritages recognized by UNESCO, Vietnam is one of the countries rich in cultural resources, a unique community in the world.
The Deputy Prime Minister directed that cultural resources should be turned into resources for national development.
He suggested that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism should soon complete the system of national cultural values and the Vietnamese people.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the People's Committee of Phu Tho province to ensure the best conditions for artists and folk artisans to have space to create and perform.

Honoring the rich source of Vietnamese culture
Immediately after the ceremony, the public was treated to a special art program that was elaborately invested in and built on a grand scale.
Hundreds of artisans, artists, professional actors from central and local art units such as Trong Tan, Anh Tho, Ngoc Ky, Ngoc Lien, People's Artist Thanh Hoai, People's Artist Thuy Ngan... and local students participated in the program.
The art program was written by screenwriter Le The Song and directed by general director.
The audience will see a rich, diverse and unified cultural source of the country, from Then singing, Ca Tru singing, Thai xoe art, Bac Ninh quan ho folk songs, the worship of the Mother Goddess of the Three Palaces, to Nghe Tinh vi and giam folk songs, Hue royal court music , Central Vietnam bai choi art, Southern amateur music , and the Central Highlands gong cultural space.
The program featured impressive performances by 100 xoan singers and primary school students who are descendants of the artists from 4 xoan wards of Phu Tho, showing that in the locality there is always generational transmission, preservation of heritage and national identity.
