At the Quang Ngai Province Nursing Center for Meritorious People, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong and his delegation visited and presented gifts to the Center's staff and 12 meritorious people being cared for at the Center.
The delegation also visited and presented gifts to war invalid Vo Toan (88 years old), in Tu Cung village, Tinh Khe commune and Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Thu (99 years old, in residential group 2, Tran Phu ward, Quang Ngai city).
At the places he visited, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong expressed his deep gratitude to the Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, wounded and sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs, and people with meritorious services to the revolution for their great contributions to the cause of national liberation and national construction.
Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong affirmed: The Party, the State and all levels of government always pay attention to and fully implement preferential policies and regimes for people with meritorious services. The Senior Lieutenant General requested all levels and sectors to continue to pay attention to and carry out this work well.
On the same day, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong and leaders of Quang Ngai province and Tra Bong mountainous district also visited and presented flowers and incense to heroic martyrs at Tra Bong district's martyr cemetery; visited and presented gifts to 20 families with special difficult circumstances in Tra Bong district with a total value of 60 million VND.
On this occasion, the National Assembly's Ethnic Council coordinated to present 300 million VND to support the construction of 6 gratitude houses for policy families in Tra Bong district.
Quang Ngai currently has 181,000 people enjoying the policy for people with meritorious services, ranking second in the country; 37,400 martyrs and more than 25,000 war invalids; 6,830 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, of which 128 are still alive.
Along with the Central Government's policies and guidelines, in recent years, Quang Ngai has issued many specific policies and guidelines of the province to pay special attention, showing affection and gratitude to those who have contributed to the revolution.
According to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Quang Ngai province, on the occasion of July 27 this year, the province established 13 working groups to directly visit and present gifts to groups, individuals and families of outstanding meritorious people in the province. In addition to the gifts from the President, the province allocated more than 26.1 billion VND to present gifts to meritorious people and policy families in the area.
