Me Pu - Da Kai Road connecting Duc Linh District (Binh Thuan) to National Highway 20, Tan Phu District (Dong Nai) has officially opened to traffic.

According to the Binh Thuan Province Traffic Project Management Board (investor), the investment project to upgrade and expand Me Pu - Da Kai road is about 14.5km long.

On the route, 2 new bridges are built: Da Kai at Km 7+700 and Da Kai 2 at Km 8+510 with reinforced concrete, bridge width 12m. Total investment capital is more than 132 billion VND.

"The project was completed before Tet, 10 months ahead of schedule compared to the contract completion date of late November 2025, serving people's convenient travel and trade of goods between the two provinces of Binh Thuan and Dong Nai," said Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hien, Deputy Director of the Traffic Project Management Board of Binh Thuan province.

Engineer Tran Van Tan, project manager (Viet Hoa Construction and Trading Joint Stock Company - contractor) said that by the end of 2024, the entire route will be paved with asphalt and the main route will be open.

"The two bridges on the new route have completed their piers. In order to race to the finish line to open to traffic before Tet in January 2025, the bridge workers are working overtime, working day and night," said engineer Tan.

Da Kai Bridge has just been completed and opened to traffic before Lunar New Year 2025.

According to people in Da Kai commune, for many years, not only people in the area but also neighboring communes such as Sung Nhon and Me Pu (Duc Linh district, Binh Thuan) have had to endure the "road of suffering" for many years.

Mr. Ha Van Thuan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Kai commune, said that previously the road was degraded and unsafe. When there was a project, the local government mobilized people to hand over the site early to hand over to the construction contractor.

Now the road has been widened, signs completed, road markings painted and officially opened to traffic before Tet, people are very happy.

When traffic is convenient, the main road has been opened, along with the planning of the connecting road to Dau Giay - Tan Phu expressway, the traffic landscape will change.

In addition, the district is a fruit growing area, rice, durian and many other agricultural products. The opened main road greatly facilitates transportation and increases competitiveness.

"The locality is encouraging people to promote the strengths of agricultural products according to the model of both production and tourism business, investing in garden and ecological models to develop the local economy," said Mr. Ha Van Thuan.

The investment project to upgrade and expand Me Pu - Da Kai road will start in December 2023. The roadbed width is 9m, the road surface width is 8m, and the sidewalk width on each side is 0.5m.

The 14.5km long route connects to National Highway 20 (QL20). This is the shortest route for people from Duc Linh and Tanh Linh districts (Binh Thuan) to Tan Phu and Dinh Quan districts (Dong Nai) and connects to QL20 to Da Huoai district (Lam Dong).
