In order to inform people to know, choose appropriate routes and means of transport, avoid traffic hubs, hot spots of traffic congestion in Ho Chi Minh City; at the same time, guide the route from Ho Chi Minh City to the Northern provinces, the Southeast and the Central Highlands, the Southwest and vice versa for vehicles traveling during the Lunar New Year 2025, the Department of Transport announces the following contents:

2. Information on traffic situation in Ho Chi Minh City:
People can access the City Traffic Information Portal at the website: http://giaothong.hochiminhcity.gov.vn or download the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Information application (on the App Store or CH Play) to receive online information about the traffic situation in Ho Chi Minh City, traffic surveillance cameras, and warnings of areas at risk of congestion to choose appropriate traffic routes.
3. Traffic instructions in Ho Chi Minh City during the Lunar New Year 2025:
It is forecasted that during the peak period serving the Lunar New Year of At Ty in 2025 (from the afternoon of January 24, 2025 to the end of February 2, 2025), people on Tet holiday will have a high demand to return to their hometowns, travel, etc., leading to traffic hubs such as airports, bus stations, ferry terminals, railway stations, etc. and some gateway areas of the City, key traffic intersections will be crowded with vehicles, with a high risk of traffic jams.
Therefore, the Department of Transport recommends that people who do not need to travel directly to the above areas should consider choosing appropriate bypass routes, specifically as follows:
3.1. Restrict traffic through the Cho Dem intersection area, Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway. The bypass route for cars, passenger cars, and trucks under 10 tons is as follows:
National Highway 1, Binh Chanh District (Le Kha Phieu Street) → Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway → Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway and vice versa.
3.2. Restrict traffic through Tan Son Nhat airport area, Tan Binh district (Truong Son street, Hong Ha street, Bach Dang street, Tran Quoc Hoan street, Phan Thuc Duyen street, ...). The bypass traffic route is as follows:
- Route 1 (traffic direction from Thu Duc city, Go Vap district to Tan Binh district, Tan Phu district): Pham Van Dong street → Hoang Minh Giam street → Dao Duy Anh street → Ho Van Hue street → Hoang Van Thu street → Phan Dinh Giot street → Phan Thuc Duyen street → Tran Quoc Hoan street → Lang Cha Ca roundabout → Hoang Van Thu street (or Cong Hoa street).
- Route 2 (traffic direction from Tan Binh district, Tan Phu district to Thu Duc city, Go Vap district): Cong Hoa street → Lang Cha Ca roundabout → Hoang Van Thu street → Nguyen Kiem street → Nguyen Thai Son roundabout → Pham Van Dong street.
3.3. Restrict traffic through the Western Bus Station area, Binh Tan District (Kinh Duong Vuong Street, from An Duong Vuong Street to Ten Lua Street). The bypass traffic route is as follows:
- Route 1 (traffic direction from Phu Lam roundabout to An Lac roundabout): Kinh Duong Vuong street → An Duong Vuong street → street number 7 → Ten Lua street → Kinh Duong Vuong street.
- Route 2 (traffic direction from An Lac roundabout to Phu Lam roundabout): Kinh Duong Vuong street → Ho Hoc Lam street → Vo Van Kiet street → An Duong Vuong street → Kinh Duong Vuong.
3.4. Restrict traffic through the Eastern Bus Station area, Binh Thanh District (National Highway 13, Dinh Bo Linh Street, ...). The bypass traffic route is as follows:
- Route 1 (traffic direction from Binh Thanh district to Thu Duc city): Xo Viet Nghe Tinh street → Bach Dang street → Le Quang Dinh street → No Trang Long street → Nguyen Xi street → Pham Van Dong street → National Highway 13.
- Route 2 (traffic direction from Thu Duc city to Binh Thanh district): National Highway 13 → Pham Van Dong street → Nguyen Xi street → Dinh Bo Linh street → Dien Bien Phu street.
3.5. Restrict traffic through the new Eastern Bus Station area, Thu Duc City (the area of the bus station entrance on Highway 1, Suoi Tien Cultural Park). The bypass traffic route is as follows:
- Route 1: National Highway 1 → National Highway 1K (Hoang Cam Street) → My Phuoc - Tan Van Road → DT.743A Road → National Highway 1 → Dong Nai Bridge and vice versa.
- Route 2: National Highway 1 → Nguyen Xien Street → Nguyen Duy Trinh Street → Vo Chi Cong Street → D2 High-tech Park Road → D1 High-tech Park Road → Hanoi Highway → National Highway 1 and vice versa.
3.6. Restrict traffic through Saigon Station area, District 3 (intersection of Do Thi Loi Street and the railway). The bypass traffic route is as follows:
- Route 1 (traffic direction from Cach Mang Thang Tam Street to Hoang Sa Street): Cach Mang Thang Tam → Rach Bung Binh Street → Nguyen Thong Street → Ky Dong Street → Truong Dinh Street → Hoang Sa Street.
- Route 2 (traffic direction from Hoang Sa street to Cach Mang Thang Tam street): Hoang Sa → Rach Bung Binh street → Cach Mang Thang Tam street.

Route 2 (for cars): New Eastern Bus Station → National Highway 1 → Dong Nai Bridge → Vung Tau Intersection → National Highway 51 → Long Thanh – Phan Thiet Expressway → Northern provinces.
b) From the Northern provinces to Ho Chi Minh City:
Route 1 (for all vehicles): Northern provinces → National Highway 1 (Dau Giay Intersection) → Vo Nguyen Giap Street (Bien Hoa City bypass) → National Highway 51 → Vung Tau Intersection → Dong Nai Bridge → National Highway 1 → New Eastern Bus Station. Or Northern provinces → National Highway 1 (Dau Giay Intersection) → Vung Tau Intersection overpass → Dong Nai Bridge → New Eastern Bus Station.
Route 2 (for cars): Northern provinces → National Highway 1 → Phan Thiet - Long Thanh Expressway → National Highway 51 → Vung Tau Intersection → Dong Nai Bridge → National Highway 1 → New Eastern Bus Station.
4.2. Traffic route from Ho Chi Minh City to the provinces of the Southeast, Central Highlands and vice versa:
a) From Ho Chi Minh City to the provinces of the Southeast and Central Highlands:
Route 1 (for all vehicles): Mien Dong Bus Station → National Highway 13 → National Highway 14 (or DT 741).
Route 2 (for all vehicles): Highway 13 → Highway 1, Thu Duc city (Le Kha Phieu street) → Highway 1 → Dong Nai bridge → Vung Tau intersection overpass → Highway 1 (Dau Giay intersection) → Highway 20. Or New Eastern Bus Station → Highway 1 → Dong Nai bridge → Vung Tau intersection overpass → Highway 1 (Dau Giay intersection) → Highway 20.
Route 3 (For cars): National Highway 13 → Dinh Bo Linh Street → Bach Dang Street → Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Street → Dien Bien Phu Street → Saigon Bridge → Vo Nguyen Giap Street → Mai Chi Tho Street → Expressway access road → Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway → National Highway 1 (Dau Giay Intersection) → National Highway 20.

4.3. Traffic route from Ho Chi Minh City to the Western provinces and vice versa:
a) From Ho Chi Minh City to the Western provinces:
Route 1 (for cars): Mien Tay Bus Station → Kinh Duong Vuong Street → National Highway 1, Binh Chanh District (Le Kha Phieu Street) → Expressway access road → Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway → National Highway 1 → Western provinces.
Route 2 (for all vehicles): Mien Tay Bus Station → Kinh Duong Vuong Street → National Highway 1, Binh Chanh District (Le Kha Phieu Street) → Western Provinces.
Route 3 (for all types of vehicles): Mien Tay Bus Station → Kinh Duong Vuong Street → National Highway 1, Binh Chanh District (Le Kha Phieu Street) → Nguyen Van Linh Street → National Highway 50, Binh Chanh District (Van Tien Dung Street) → Western provinces.
Route 4 (for all vehicles): Truong Chinh Street → National Highway 22, Hoc Mon District (Le Quang Dao Street) → National Highway 22, Cu Chi District (Phan Van Khai Street) → Provincial Road 8 → Route N2 → Western Provinces. Or Truong Chinh Street → National Highway 22, Hoc Mon District (Le Quang Dao Street) → Nguyen Van Bua → Provincial Road 824 (Long An Province) → Route N2 → Western Provinces.

5. Some notes:
- Propose that the Department of Transport of Tien Giang, Long An, Dong Nai and Binh Duong provinces coordinate and direct relevant units to install additional traffic direction signs.
- Request the Traffic Police of Tien Giang, Long An, Dong Nai and Binh Duong provinces to support and increase traffic control forces at intersections at risk of traffic congestion. At the same time, coordinate to inspect and handle the situation of vehicles stopping and parking illegally, vehicles carrying more passengers than allowed, causing traffic safety problems.
- Request the Traffic Police Department - Ho Chi Minh City Police to support the increase of traffic control forces at locations and intersections along the above routes to ensure smooth traffic. At the same time, regularly coordinate with the Traffic Police of the provinces and C08 to grasp information on traffic flow towards Ho Chi Minh City in order to proactively regulate traffic from a distance and early.
- Propose that the People's Committee of Thu Duc City and related districts and towns of Ho Chi Minh City develop a plan to arrange forces to regulate traffic and maintain security and order at bus station areas such as: New Eastern Bus Station, Eastern Bus Station, Western Bus Station, An Suong Bus Station, ..., wharfs, ferry terminals such as: Cat Lai ferry, Binh Khanh ferry; Saigon station, Tan Son Nhat airport, routes to and from the city gateway, ... to ensure traffic safety and order and order on the sidewalks so that people can travel conveniently and safely.
- Request press agencies to support regular notification of the above traffic routes to traffic participants through mass media.
