With the desire to help visitors have many interesting experiences when coming to the heritage land of Tay Do, the World Heritage Conservation Center of Ho Dynasty Citadel (Vinh Loc district, Thanh Hoa province) has recently added many more exhibition spaces, including the cultural space of agricultural tools of Tay Do region.

Mr. Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Director of the Ho Dynasty Citadel World Heritage Conservation Center, said that traditional agricultural tools have been closely associated with the lives and activities of Vietnamese people for generations. Currently, in the trend of rural urbanization, agricultural mechanization is taking place strongly, modern machines are gradually replacing human labor. Therefore, traditional farming methods and agricultural tools are gradually disappearing over time.
With the purpose of displaying and introducing to the public, especially the young generation, to help people appreciate and better understand traditional farming tools, the simple and honest life, the hard-working and creative spirit of farmers, containing the simple and pure cultural activities of people and Vietnamese villages, contributing to preserving the values of material and spiritual cultural heritage and the quintessence of our ancestors.
Since then, the Ho Dynasty Citadel World Heritage Conservation Center has displayed many artifacts, which are farming tools and daily living items of Vietnamese rural people, which were once very familiar.
Agricultural tools of Vietnamese people in the past
The plow has been associated with wet rice agriculture for generations of Vietnamese people.
Fishing tools, water buckets, bailing buckets... were very familiar in Vietnamese villages of the last century.
A rice mill is skillfully made from bamboo.
Foot-operated mortars and pestles for pounding rice are often placed on the porches of thatched houses.
