According to Ms. Phi Thi Tho, an English teacher at Nguyen Du Secondary School (Nam Tu Liem District), this year's 10th grade English entrance exam was quite "easy".
In terms of structure, this year's exam is similar to recent years. "The exam can be said to be within reach, with over 60% of the questions at the cognitive level. Only about 2-3 questions are at the application level to classify students. The knowledge units asked in the exam are mainly from the English program at secondary school level, mainly grade 9," Ms. Tho commented.

Ms. Tho also believes that with this test, candidates who have a solid grasp of basic phonetics, vocabulary, and grammar can complete 70-80% of the test. However, to achieve a score of 9 or 10, students must have a good vocabulary and ability to make predictions. The knowledge content asked in the test is broad, and does not test difficult knowledge such as verb phrases or idioms.
The reading passage has a familiar topic, vocabulary and questions that are quite easy to do. However, the classification questions are mainly in the reading passage, testing students' vocabulary and judgment ability. The writing also tests students on structures and grammar that are quite familiar. "Overall, with this year's exam, students can easily get a score of 7 - 8. A score of 10 this year is not too difficult to achieve," said Ms. Tho.
Ms. Le Thi Ly, an English teacher at Hoang Mai Secondary School (Hoang Mai District), also commented that this year's English exam was good and had good classification of students. The amount of knowledge was focused on the textbook program, not difficult and basic, creating a comfortable mindset for students when doing the test. With this level of exam, a score of 9 or 10 is not difficult.
"The phonetics section focuses on basic pronunciation and stress rules that students practice regularly. The vocabulary and grammar sections also make students feel comfortable with basic structures. However, students must think and analyze the questions carefully. This section does not have any tricky questions that make it difficult for students. The communication section also has two very familiar question and answer questions: suggestive sentences and congratulatory sentences.
The synonyms and antonyms are also very good sentences. Students need to think and translate the meaning of the sentence to choose the correct answer. The reading part with 2 reading passages on 2 familiar and pleasant topics, festivals and tourism, is not difficult, but there are sentences that help classify students in terms of good reading comprehension ability. The writing part, I rate as good with diverse structures and also has a slightly more difficult sentence to choose students with 10 points," Ms. Ly analyzed.
