Currently, registering for university is the top concern of candidates. Many students feel confused about how to prioritize their wishes in a reasonable order.
This is also the issue that was mentioned and answered at the admissions consultation day taking place at Hanoi University of Science and Technology on the morning of July 22.
According to Dr. Pham Nhu Nghe - Deputy Director of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), candidates can make any number of wishes, but can only be admitted to one wish.

Therefore, Mr. Nghe believes that the major that candidates love the most should be prioritized as their first choice. The choices that students have met the conditions for early admission but are still hesitant and have not decided what to study should not be placed as their first choice.
Because if you fail your first choice - your most favorite choice, you will be considered for your second, third, fourth... choices in turn.
Mr. Pham Nhu Nghe emphasized that choosing and arranging wishes is the right of candidates. Candidates are the ones who make the final decision. No university can "force" candidates to put their wishes that meet the conditions for early admission as their wishes.
He suggested that candidates should be calm and bold in choosing their favorite wish first, without being influenced by external factors.
"In the process of choosing your wishes, you will have to rely on many factors. Besides your preferences, there are exam scores, admission scores, and your family's economic conditions. Please think carefully and make your final decision before 5:00 p.m. on July 30," said Dr. Pham Nhu Nghe.
Also related to university admission registration, Ms. Nguyen Thu Thuy, Director of the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training) said that up to this point, only about 390,000 candidates have registered their wishes on the Ministry of Education and Training's admission system. Of these, about 72,000 candidates have only registered one wish.
Ms. Thuy advised that candidates should not register for only one wish but should have several wishes. Because if there is a risk for the candidate, the Ministry's system will continue to consider the selection so that the candidate has other opportunities. Candidates should pay attention to put the wishes they like the most and find the most suitable at the top.
Advising candidates to "not put all their eggs in one basket", Ms. Thuy also believes that it is unnecessary for candidates to register hundreds of wishes.
Ms. Thuy also noted that in reality, from last year, many candidates were admitted through the early admission method but did not register their eligible wishes on the Ministry of Education and Training's admission system. And such cases lost their own chances of admission.
Because even if the schools confirm that the candidates have been admitted with conditions, the candidates still have to do the final step of registering their admission wishes, including early admission wishes and admission wishes based on high school graduation exam scores, on the Ministry of Education and Training's admission system and pay the full fee for the registered wishes.
