Similar to the match where The Cong won 3-0 against CAHN in round 13 of V-League on March 8, the two teams today still fielded their strongest lineups. CAHN was without Bui Hoang Viet Anh due to injury, while The Cong unexpectedly changed their starting lineup by withdrawing Nguyen Hoang Duc to put Huy Hung on the field.
The Cong still showed their sharp counter-attacking ability. In the 19th minute, Pedro Henrique dribbled the ball from home to the edge of the CAHN penalty area before passing the ball to Aparecido Adriano, but in a one-on-one situation, the The Cong striker's shot was too soft for Filip Nguyen to catch. In the 40th minute, Truong Tien Anh volleyed with his left foot about 18 meters from the goal into the top right corner, but Filip Nguyen flew as far as he could to block.
CAHN's first-half chances mostly belonged to Geovane Magno but shots in the 28th, 32nd and second minute of stoppage time all lacked accuracy.
In the second half, The Cong's goal was in trouble in the 48th minute after Quang Hai's corner kick from the right wing, but Ho Tan Tai's volley went over the bar. However, The Cong was the team that broke the tie.
Main events of the match The Cong 1-0 Cong An Ha Noi.
In the 63rd minute, Huynh Tan Sinh fought in the air and headed the ball poorly, allowing Tran Danh Trung to score. After a few dribbles, Danh Trung passed the ball to Pedro Henrique, who quickly accelerated past Filip Nguyen and then easily tapped the ball into the empty net. Three minutes later, Hoang Duc passed the ball to Danh Trung to score, but the goal was disallowed for offside.
In the remaining minutes, The Cong defended tightly, preventing the opposing strikers from creating any more dangerous opportunities. CAHN switched to crosses and high balls, but were easily neutralized.
Winning 1-0, The Cong won the right to enter the quarterfinals to meet PVF-CAND - the team that defeated Dong Nai 2-1 yesterday, March 13. The remaining three matches are Hanoi FC vs. Da Nang, Nam Dinh vs. Binh Duong and Thanh Hoa vs. Hai Phong.

The match at Hang Day Stadium on the evening of March 13 also saw CAHN fans unfurl a large banner modeled after the cover of Vietnam’s red book. The banner was later removed and confiscated by the match organizers, as it did not comply with regulations.
The purpose of the action is to confirm that CAHN has been using Hang Day Stadium as their home stadium since 1956. Previously, CAHN had a dispute over Hang Day Stadium with The Cong and Hanoi FC after the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) recommended that each stadium should only have a maximum of two teams. If they do not comply, Vietnamese clubs will be stripped of their Asian competition spots from the 2024-2025 season.
