(Dan Tri) - Deputy Inspector General of the Government Bui Ngoc Lam requested Department IV to ensure fairness and objectivity in verifying assets and income.
At the conference to review the work in 2024 and deploy tasks in 2025 of the Department of Anti-Corruption and Negativity (Department IV) that recently took place, Deputy Inspector General of the Government Bui Ngoc Lam requested Department IV to urgently complete the scoring and assessment of the anti-corruption work of localities according to the Provincial Anti-Corruption Assessment Index in 2024.

Department IV is required to ensure impartiality and objectivity in verifying assets and income; closely follow the area and scope of functions and tasks, as well as innovate working methods and approaches to achieve the best results in all aspects of work.
According to the report, in 2024, the direction and operation of Department IV continued to have positive changes in all aspects of work, achieving many results in performing political tasks, basically meeting the requirements of the Government Inspectorate's leadership.
State management work on preventing and combating corruption, negativity and controlling assets and income has been strengthened and gradually deepened.
Regarding the tasks assigned by the Government Inspector General , Department IV has advised on the issuance of a plan to implement the Government Inspectorate's Strategy on anti-corruption and negativity until 2030 and implement the first phase 2023-2026.
This unit also advised the Government Inspectorate to give opinions on the draft Regulation on recovery of assets due to corruption and negativity sent to the Central Inspection Committee; synthesized reports on loopholes, obstacles, and inadequacies of mechanisms, policies, and laws discovered through inspection, handling of complaints and denunciations, and proposed amendments, supplements, and improvements to policies and laws through inspection.
Department IV completed the draft conclusion of the thematic inspection on supporting people with revolutionary contributions to improve housing to report to the Prime Minister; drafted a report on inspection results, draft conclusion of the inspection of responsibility for implementing the law on anti-corruption at the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province to report to the Government Inspector General.
In addition, Department IV has advised the Government Inspectorate on a document requesting standardization of the list under the authority of the Government Inspectorate to control assets and incomes at 8 ministries and branches (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Vietnam Television; Ministry of Health; Ministry of Justice; Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs; Vietnam Bank for Social Policies; Vietnam Expressway Corporation).
The draft plan for implementing asset and income verification in 2025 is seeking comments from the Government Inspector General. Department IV has the function of assisting the Government Inspector General in performing state management of corruption prevention and control work; performing inspection tasks and powers under the authority of the Government Inspectorate when assigned by the Government Inspector General.
Mr. Nguyen Van Canh is currently the Director of Department IV; Deputy Directors include Mr. Le Ngoc Quang, Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan, Mr. Le Huy Tham and Mr. Truong Khanh Hai.
