On December 4, in Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Newspaper held the 22nd ceremony to award 100 "Overcoming difficulties for the future" scholarships for the 2024-2025 school year, sponsored by THACO. Representative of the Group, Mr. Le Huu Co - Deputy Director of the Cultural Department attended and awarded scholarships to students.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Son Hung - Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee encouraged the students to continue to strive to study and practice to become excellent citizens, with strong will and intelligence. He said: "The joint efforts of sponsors and partners not only spread the spirit of mutual love and support but also create conditions for students to have more opportunities to access education".
Among the students receiving scholarships from the program is Nguyen Hoang Thanh Duc, a student of class 4A2, Huynh Tan Phat Primary School (Phu Xuan Commune, Tan Phu District), a typical example of perseverance. Duc's family has 4 members: father, mother and 2 siblings. Family life has faced many difficulties when his father suffered a stroke, leaving his mother to work alone to cover daily expenses. Understanding his family's situation, Duc has always been a good student and strived to study. The scholarship has helped his mother reduce the financial burden and created more motivation for Duc to continue going to school.
Sharing about the scholarship "Overcoming difficulties for the future", Mr. Nguyen Mot - Senior Director in charge of Culture - Communications THACO said: "Education is an important foundation for building a sustainable society. In the coming time, THACO will continue to accompany Dong Nai Newspaper to award scholarships to students, thereby helping many disadvantaged students have the opportunity to realize their dreams, contributing to building a bright future for the country". Since 2001, the scholarship program "Overcoming difficulties for the future" of Dong Nai Newspaper has awarded more than 2,700 scholarships with a total value of more than 4 billion VND after 22 times of organization. This is the 15th year that THACO has accompanied the program with the desire to support students to overcome difficulties and firmly step on the path to conquer knowledge.
